So to transfer songs from iPhone to computer, the first thing we need is to have iTunes installed. If you’re on a Mac, it should be dead simple, in fact, most Macs come with iTunes pre-installed. #1. How to Transfer Music from iPhone to Computer Using iTunes
This is the easiest way. However, it does have a few limitations. We will discuss them when we compare both the services at the end of this article! For now, let’s begin with the process!
For the first step, we open up the iTunes app on our computer. It is important that we have the latest version.
Using a Micro USB cable, connect your device to your computer. Use the included USB cable to connect your device to your computer.
Now click on your device. After clicking on the icon, tabs should appear on the left side of the iTunes window under Settings.
You should see Music appear in here if you have some music in your iPhone.
Now for this step, we turn on syncing on the iPhone so that all the Music in the phone can be successfully synced on the PC hard drive!
And for the final step, click on the Apply button in the bottom right corner, followed by the sync button. Wait for a few minutes and tada! You have successfully moved all your music!
#2. How to Transfer Music from iPhone to a Computer Using iExplorer
While using iTunes is simple and efficient, the fact that it doesn’t allow simple things like a drag and drop interface can irritate many users. Hence for all those users, we have another easy to use and feature rich program on display here. So without further ado, let’s get right into the mix!
Whether it be a Mac or a PC, you first need to install the iExplorer software. Click on this link to download the software! Once download and installation have been completed, proceed to the next step.
In this step we first open up the iExplorer software on our PC. Like before we then connect the device to the PC using the MicroUSB cable. As you might have iTunes installed, once the device is connected, a prompt will come up asking if you want to sync the device with iTunes. Click on No or Cancel.
Once you open up the Device Overview screen, you will see the music icon! To get started with the Music Transfer, click on te icon. You can also access your stored Music from the Media Libray.
Now you can access the entire media library from here. You can transfer all the tracks by selecting all of them or you can select individual tracks by clicking on the ones you want while holding the command key (for Mac users) or control key (Ctrl for PC users).
Once you’re done selecting, click the Transfer from button and a menu will pop open. From here you can export a playlist or just the selected tracks to a folder of your choice.
And there you have it! Before modifying any data from your iPhone, it is always suggested to create a backup of your iPhone. If you have deleted something by mistake, make sure you read How to restore iPhone from Backup.
