Step 2. If your attempt is successful, you will see the Advanced Boot Options like the below screen.


Step 3. In the above screen, you can view the Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with Command  Prompt. All these three options are different from each other and have their own values. Let’s check out what is the difference between all these options.

Safe Mode: Safe mode is the Regular Safe Mode. Which is most probably the prime choice for troubleshooting system errors, in most of the cases. It starts the windows with all the important and core files, drivers and software.

It’s very general and won’t let you access the internet or command prompt.

Safe Mode with Networking: This mode of windows lets you connect to the internet while in safe mode. This type of safe mode is handy for those who need the internet connection to solve the system problems.

Safe Mode with Command  Prompt: Unlike the other two modes, this safe mode option gives you access to the command prompt. If you know what you are doing and the command prompt is going to be used while troubleshooting errors, go for this option.

#How to Start Windows in Safe Mode From Inside the Windows:

The above method is the only option to boot a computer into safe mode when windows don’t load. But if you can start your computer normally but you still have to go to safe mode to solve some system errors, you can directly do that from the System Configuration.

In fact, if you configure your system to go into the safe mode by doing system configurations, it will always boot into the safe mode until you make the settings off and make it start into the normal mode.

So here’s how to start a computer into safe mode, when you have access to it.

Step 1: Click on the Start menu and go to the Run window. Or press Windows +R key to open the run window.

Step 2: In the Run Window, type “msconfig” and click  ok similar to the below screenshot.


Step 3: As sooner you click on itSystem Configuration window will get launched. Now Go to the Boot Tab. Refer to the below screenshot, in the case of any doubt.


Step 4: In the Boot tab, you need to check the options Safe Boot under Boot Options. If you will check Safe boot, you will see many sub options getting appeared.

You need to select Minimal out of all the four options. Refer to the below screenshot to understand the options better.


Step 5: Once you are done with the above-mentioned settings, click Ok. 

Now every time you start your computer, it will start into the safe mode. If you want to make it back to normal, come back to System Configuration window and undo all the Settings.

The same method is applicable in windows XP, windows 8 and vista.

How to Disable Windows Update in Windows 10?

Step #2: Now, you need to navigate to the “All Settings” option. You can find the “All Settings” option just below your network connections. Once you have found the “All Settings” option, you now need to click on it in order to open it.

Step #3: From the window which you have got due to the recent activity of yours in the previous step, you now need to locate “Network & the Internet”. Clicking on it will open another window for you.

On the left side of the window precisely called the left pane, you are required to select “Wi-Fi” as the option.

Step #4: Now, you need to select “Advanced Options” from the window. This will result in a window from which you are required to navigate to the Metered connection section. After this, you need to switch it on where the following is written: “Set as metered connection.” This will turn it on, and windows updates won’t run in the background.

Method 3:

This method is also an indirect method. In this method, we will not directly disable the windows update. Instead of it, Windows system will notify us about the available updates and we will have the power to choose whether to install it or not.

Step #1: As the very first step of this method, you are required to open the run application. For this, consider using “Windows + R” and then type “gpedit.msc” and then hit enter. This will open the “Local Group Policy Editor” for you.

Step #2: Now, you are required to navigate the following way: Firstly, go to the Computer Configuration ->  After this, click on the Administrative Templates -> Windows components -> and finally, go to the “Windows Update”.


Step #3: Once you have clicked on the “Windows Update” option then now you are required to click on “Configure Automatic Updates“. This will open a window for you.

Step #4: First click on the “Enabled” checkbox if it is not configured. Now, you are required to navigate to the “Options” section and then select configure automatic updating to “2- Notify for download and  notify for install”

Step #5: Now, click on “Apply” and then OK.

But before that, first, check out  if your computer supports hosted network or not. To do so, first, type the command “netsh wlan show drivers”. Press enter. And check the result.

If the result is like the image mentioned below, it means your system supports hosted network. And if not, then you will have to drop the plan of turning laptop into a wifi hotspot.

In other words, If the result is shown “YES”, it means your system supports hosted network. And you can turn you PC into a wifi hotspot. And if the result is No, then you can not turn your windows into a wifi hotspot.

As you can see in the above image, the result showing is Yes, So let’s move to the next step.

Step 3: Now as you have checked your system supporting wifi hotspot, you will have to create the network. For this type the command netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=network_name key=Password” . And press enter.

Note: Here, ssid is the name of the network you want to create. In the command, I have already mentioned it. You can type any other name you want. And Key is the password of network. Again, you can write anything. But remember it should be a minimum of 8 characters.

Step 4: After creating the network, you will need to start it. So, to start a connection type the command “netsh wlan start hostednetwork” And hit enter. Ok, once done, move to the next step.

As sooner you hit the enter button, the network you just created would go active.

Step 5: As you have created and have started the network, its time to share the internet connection with a wi-fi hotspot. To do so, first of all, go to Open network and sharing center.  

In the open network and sharing center, click on Change adapter settings. Check the screenshot mentioned below.


Step 6: Now, to share the internet connection with wifi hotspot right click on your main network and go to properties.

Here the network connection means the network connection which you use to connect to the internet. For instance, my network connections name is Local Area Connection. Check out the screen below.


Step 7: This is the last and the most crucial step. After clicking on the properties, click on the sharing tab.

After that, in the Sharing tab, check the box “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s network connection. 

And click on the Home networking connection. Here select the wifi hotspot you just created. Click on Ok. Check out the screenshot I have mentioned below, if you didn’t get what I meant.


That’s it!! After you are done and have clicked on Ok, your laptop or PC will turn into a wifi hotspot immediately.

Now you can connect as many devices as you want to the network.
