In fact, it’s all built-in, the feature is a built-in feature of WordPress, and in fact, it’s so damn awesome that you don’t even need to move away from the page where you’re writing your article to Schedule your WordPress posts.
So okay, get to your “New Post” page, meaning where you write a new post or article on your WordPress. Once you’re there, just take a look at the right sidebar under the “publish” section and find the “publish” option.
Just click on “edit” and it would bring up a date and time format for you.
I’m guessing you already know what to do now! Yeah, you just got to set the Date and Time for when you want your article to go live and click on “OK”. Once you set the date & time, you will see, “Publish” Button being replaced with the “Schedule” button. Just click on Schedule and you are done.
Done! Well, let me show you how a “scheduled” post looks like on your WordPress Dashboard.
See? There it’s saying clearly that the post is scheduled, hence? Mission Accomplished!
Other Methods to Schedule Your Posts in WordPress:-
The one other method worth mentioning here is, integrating your WordPress account with IFTTT! Now IFTTT does a lot more than just schedule your WordPress Posts, basically, it’s a whole automation solution.
But then again, it’s pretty complicated and needs lots of integrations and logic settings, so my advice? Just stick to this procedure, it’s just as simple as it gets!
I just listed the procedure here in case the above method isn’t working and you’re desperate to schedule your WordPress posts, in that case, you can retreat to this option!

Let’s first learn about how to monitor it using your Google Plus account! The monitor would send you “All is well” reports to your Email and Google Plus notifications bar. Which technically is permanently available on your Google Chrome’s top right area.
- Click here to access this pre-made google sheet.
- Click on Make a copy.
- A new Google Sheet would open up. Edit the Website URL and change it to your own website’s address.
- Do the same with the Email address too!
- Done! You don’t need to change anything else in the piece. Simply click on the Website Monitor button on the toolbar, and click on Initialize.
- An “Authorization required” box would pop up. Click on the authorize button.
- Login to your Google Plus account, and click on allow.
Done! Now you’d be notifications if your website is down! This monitor works on a 5-minute interval, so well I think that’s fair enough for an unlimited, free forever monitor, right? 5 minutes won’t make your break your career.

Well yeah, signup at Monitoring. (It’s free!).
Once you’ve provided your Email, check into your Email account for a confirmation E-mail from monitoring. And click on the button.
That would take you to a Google Plus authorization page, allow the application to access your profile.
And then it would redirect to monitoring again, where you’ve got to specify your website URL.
After that on the next screen just enter your cell phone number where you’d want to get the notifications.
And finally, click finish.
Now the only thing left for you to do is, click on the “SMS” checkbox on the next screen to enable the SMS notifications.

WordPress is the most used CMS on this planet there’s no doubt to it. In fact, it’s powering more than 25% of the total no. of World’s websites, now that’s a B-I-G number. And that’s the reason today I’d be showing you How to Restore WordPress from Backup.
Now I chose the topic for several reasons, first because it’s related to WordPress. Second, you need to know How to Restore a WordPress Site From Backup in order to do lots of things, be it migration, or a simple change on your WordPress blog.
Well before explaining to you how to restore the backup of a WordPress website, I think it’s only fair of me to explain what will be included in the backup, and why you would want to restore it.
What is a WordPress Backup:-
I strongly insist you check out those three articles above before proceeding. Trust my backups aren’t as simple as they seem, and those three articles would clear this up for you.
Anyway in case you won’t, let me explain a WordPress backup. Basically, WordPress is just a “CMS”, so if you’re talking strictly about “WordPress” backup, it just means the backup of your articles / Text/images.
While just those things aren’t enough in order to get a website up and running. So the other part of a “WordPress website” backup include the Database, the email aliases, and the other important files, if you don’t back these up, only your WordPress backup won’t help you restore the whole websites.
And I’ve covered how to back up each of these things separately in those three articles above.
The “WordPress” backup file is generally a .xml file, a pretty lightweight file that consists of all your important data.
So Bottomline is, in this article I’ll show you how to restore a WordPress backup. This restoration will include restoring:-
- Old Articles.
- Previous Images Files.
- Any other On-Page Elements. (On-Page = elements which were present on the content page)
When to Restore WordPress from Backup:-
As I always say, you don’t need a reason to create a backup of your WordPress website, you should just do it anyway. But even then there are some specific moments when having a WordPress backup and restoring it might mean life or death of your online career, so let me scribble them down for you:-
- You are Migrating your URL completely.
- You are changing your servers. (In that case, you’d need a “complete backup”, which you can learn how to create if you check out the three posts in the first paragraph.)
- If you changed something on your website, and things went south.
These are just some of the moments when restoring your WordPress backup might seem like a good idea.
Requirements to Restore WordPress from Backup:-
In order to restore your WordPress website from backup, you need a couple of things beforehand. Make sure you have:-
- A .xml backup of your website before proceeding. If you don’t know how to get one, just check out the three posts I’ve mentioned in the first paragraph.
- A WordPress Importer. If you got it installed, it’s great. If not, don’t worry it’ll get installed automatically.
How to Restore WordPress from Backup:-
In order to Restore your WordPress Backup, login to your WordPress dashboard, and click on Tools>Import.
This will bring up the following screen on your monitors
Then click on the WordPress button
It will ask you to install the WordPress installer plugin, install it, it’s verified by WordPress for security and bugs hence it’s safe. So just click on Install Now.
It will automatically install the importer on your WordPress website. If the installation was successful, you should see a screen like this
Just click on Activate Plugin and Run Importer button. Once you click on it, you’d be taken to this screen
I don’t think I need to explain what to do over here, right? All you’ve got to do is, click on Choose File.
Once you click on it, the file browser popup would come up, which will let you locate your backup file. So just find the backup file and click on it and then click OPEN!
Once you get the backup file, just click on Upload File and Import button.
Done! This will start the upload automatically, once the upload is done, you’ll get your posts/images/permalinks back.

The internet has become advanced enough and hence the possibilities too have expanded beyond just browsing and downloading. With the advent of hundreds of new marketing strategies, today I’ll be showing you How to Add Web Push Notification to Your WordPress Site?
A decade back, owning your own website seemed like a dream, only companies and firms used to do so, today? Every kid around the corner has his own. Similarly, just couple of years back Push Notifications were one such luxury for website owners.
But today? With the help of so many third party pieces of codes and stuff, answers to questions like How to Add Push Notifications to WordPress site, have become as easy as a couple clicks.
What are Push Notifications?
Before asking your questions like Best Way to Add Push Notifications to Your WordPress Site, I think it’s fair of me to explain to you a bit what Push Notifications exactly are, right?
Have you ever subscribed to price-comparison websites? Which compares the price of certain products you’re looking for from various websites and then display a little tab at either corner of your desktop, even when you aren’t browsing any website?

Why do You Need Push Notifications?
There are a couple of benefits you’ll be getting with Push Notifications, and so it’s fast taking over the traditional marketing methods.
1. Push Notifications don’t need you to be browsing the Internet. They can be delivered to you directly on your Desktop /Laptop Homescreens.
2. They can also be delivered to you if you’re browsing something else, watching a movie, or anything else.
3. They don’t need the user to do anything! Like with E-mail marketing the user needs to open his Email account, and then from the thousands of mails, needs to click on your mail to get the information, well with Push Notifications it’s not so.
4. The combination of Text+Image kind of makes the notifications clickable. If the content is good and the image you’ve used is lucrative enough, you’re bound to get yourselves some clicks.
5. They can also be displayed on Mobile Devices!
6. A recent survey declared that Push Notifications have 51% more Open rates compared to the traditional SMS, Internet and Email methods.
How to Add Web Push Notification to Your WordPress Site:-
In order to Add Web Push Notifications to WordPress, you’d be needing a plugin (the god-solution to all WordPress Problems isn’t it?)
So Go to your WordPress Dashboard, and click on Plugins>Add new
And search for OneSignal and install it.
Once you’ve installed the plugin, just click on the “OneSignal” tab on the left sidebar and you’d be taken to the plugin’s page.
Once you’re on this page, you’d need a couple of API’s and Key’s, which I’ll show in detail how to create. (Worry not it’s no rocket science!)
So okay now you should head over to Add Google Services Page.
Basically just Name your project, and in the second box, give your android package a name. Don’t worry the service won’t be using any kind of android package, it’s just a requirement for advanced users who might have different needs than us, but for us, we just need a name nothing else.
And then click on Choose and Configure Services.
The next screen would look something like this.
As you can see, there are three options out there, and you’d want to click on the “+” button that’s on top of the “cloud messaging” option.
And then Click on Enable Google cloud Messaging option.
Then you’d be provided with your Server API Key and Sender ID, copy the sender ID and go to your OneSignal plugin’s “configuration” tab and paste it there under “Google Project Number” tab
Step #2:- How To Make Your Blog Push Notification Ready in Easy Steps:-
So by now, I gather you’ve your Sender ID (which is pasted in your plugin’s configurations tab!) and your Server API key (which we will use later), right?
Now move on to OneSignal’s Official Website, and create a free account over there.
Once you’re logged in to your Free account on OneSignal, you should click on the Add a new App Tab.
A popup would come up asking you for a name, enter just about any name there and you’re good to proceed.
On the next screen, you would want to select Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox as the platforms.
And then just click on Configure. Once you do so, another popup would come up which would look something like this.
Now here’s the tricky part. You can enter your URL in the URL box, and then the URL of the image you want to display with the notifications in the Default Notifications Icon URL.
Now you see the option that says “My site is not fully HTTPS”, right? And I’m considering the majority of you reading this piece don’t have SSL on their websites.
The bad news is that Google Chrome doesn’t support Non-SSL sites or plain HTTP sites for push notifications. Worry not that problem is solved as OneSignal will give you one of their own subdomains with the SSL certificates for this purpose.
So if you do not have SSL, just click that box, and then enter the subdomain you’d want to use, and click on save.
Done! Now for the last part!
You just need to get your OneSignal Keys, and for that, click on App Settings > Keys and ID.
Now for the final part, just copy-paste both of these keys and paste them in your WordPress OneSignal Plugin’s configurations tab.
Now just login to your OneSignal account once again, and you’d see this box. You should click on the “select SDK” option.
Now select “WordPress” from the SDKs.
Finally, just click on “Test Notifications” to test if your notifications are working which they should.
You would get your notifications preview meaning you successfully setup Push Notifications for your WordPress site.

How to Import/Restore WordPress Backup?
Now I’ve been really getting into WordPress lately. If you’re on this piece, you might also find my piece on How to backup WordPress come in handy. Because well this piece on How to Import/Restore WordPress Backup is totally related!
Okay so yeah this piece is totally going to be about how you can backup /restore your WordPress site! Because I know I’ve done a complete piece on How to backup WordPress site (which you can access from the above link), but just backing it up isn’t the goal, right? You need to know how to restore it as well, don’t you?
And as it has become my habit to get into the basics before actually covering the real thing, let me continue the trend by clearing off the air a bit about the basics.
What are WordPress Backups and Their Types:-
Because of the huge list of plugins in the market these days, it has become hard for people to “learn” things. All they have to do these days is, install a plugin, activate it, and it does its job. While they have no idea about what the hell just happened.
So well you might not know but yeah there are more than one “types” of WordPress backups.
Complete WordPress backup:- It’s the complete backup of your WordPress files, your Email Aliases, and WordPress database! (You might actually love my piece on How to backup WordPress Database because it’s especially centered around the Database thing!)
And then partial backups. Partial backups are backups that are concerned about specific parts of the website. Let’s say just the files, or the database or the Aliases.
Well a backup is the “restore” point of your website. It’s like you want to try something new, and something goes wrong. Now that’s where backups jump in to help you.
How to Import/Restore WordPress Backup:-
I take it as you’ve already created your WordPress backup using any of the methods I’ve shared, or whatever you might have already known. At this point I just want to make sure that if you’re proceeding, you’ve your Backup file ready with you.
So okay in order to backup your Website, you can either make use of the Cpanel, or some of the best WordPress backup plugin (s), out there. I’ll be covering both the steps, so let’s first look into the plugins thing.
Keep in mind that the plugins aint free, while the Cpanel method is. Still it’s your choice what you want to go with.
How to Import/Restore WordPress using Plugins:-
BackupBuddy is just one of the best options when it comes to restoring your WordPress backup. I’ve talked about it enough times, so just install BackupBuddy on your WordPress.
Now you’ll need a file that goes by the name :- importbuddy.php. Which you can obtain by going to WpDashboard>Backupbuddy>Restore/Migrate.
Now Download Importbuddy. (And also the backup if you haven’t already got it!)
It will ask you to set a password. So that only YOU can restore it again. Just set a password, and you’ll get the importbuddy.php file.
Well now, upload this file to your server. Let’s say www.yoursite.com/importbuddy.php, and then enter the exact URL of the file on the address bar.
For eg. if you’ve uploaded it to www.yoursite.com/blog/importbuddy.php, well then enter this exact URL there.
Once you do, import buddy would ask you for the authentication password, the one which you set some time ago. Enter it.
Now, just click on the “upload” tab, and upload your backup file.
The next screen would unzip the file. Just wait, and when it’s done click on the Next step button.
Now, just click Next step again if you’re simply restoring your WordPress site and don’t want to change any other settings.
The next screen allows you to test the database settings, so just click on Test settings. If the test is passed, then proceed to click on the Next step again.
Done! Well that was it folks! If the database import was successful and you did everything right, you just successfully restored your WordPress website.
How to Import/Restore WordPress Website Using Cpanel:-
If you’re going this way, I assume you have a complete backup of your Website, (Or you can learn How to Create a Complete WordPress Backup using my tutorial in the first paragraph) which consists of:-
- Home Directory backup
- Email Aliases.
- SQL databases.
All these backups are included in the .zip file you downloaded as a backup when you were backing up so not a lot of trouble there. So well extract the compressed backup file. Because you have to upload the backups separately.
So okay login to your Cpanel, and search for “backups”.
Click on the Backup Wizard button.
Then click on the Restore button.
Now click on the home directory.
And then finally choose the file you want to upload, and click upload.
Done, just repeat the same process with the other two kinds of files.
Backup Wizard > Restore > Mysql Database > Upload your sql backup.
Similarly, just use the exact same steps, and finally upload the Email Aliases.

Hey guys, yeah I’ve got myself into this trend on writing pieces on “WordPress” these last couple days, but I’m pretty sure you’re loving the archive. So here’s another addition to the collection that says ” How to backup WordPress Database.”
Well yeah I already know what you’re searching for, you’re searching for a solution to backup your WordPress Database’s, right? Why else would you be on this post? So that’s exactly what I’m giving out on a plate to you.
But as my habit goes, let me first get into a bit of the basics maybe?
What is a Database?
The reason a lot of you still have to google about stuff like this is, the internet has made things more than just “easier. You can obtain a backup of your WordPress Database, or even the whole site in a matter of seconds by using just about any kind of plugin available out there.
That makes things easier and saves time no doubt, but that also kills the learning curve. If you don’t know what the Database is, well then no matter how many times you back it up, there’s always be a void between your knowledge and career.
So yeah let me just explain to you in brief, about what exactly a database is.
A Database is a “base” for data. Let’s say a Database is where your data is stored, in an organized, structured format. If you take your Database to be a drawer, the different cabinets of the database can be termed as the “tables”.
Whenever you need the data regarding a certain thing, you just have to look into that specific table, and you get your file, right? That saves you time from going through each and every table and file in the drawer. And that’s exactly what the database does for you.
The WordPress you run your sites uses MySQL as the database software. (Which apparently is the most popular database management software on this planet!). WordPress is a very complex platform and hence needs lots of data and tables.
And that’s the reason why you need to have this database thing so that the data can be kept organized.
An SQL Database primarily consists of three parts:-
- The host:- Your MySQL server needs to be hosted somewhere, right? So the computer or the system where it’s hosted is called the host. Most of the time, “localhost” is the default host! Unless of course, your server company has different things in mind.
- Tables:- Just as I said, the tables are where the data is stored. It’s like an easier and faster way to store, organize and find data. These tables are where your data is stored.
- SQL query: – So now you have a host and database, but how would you command it? You can’t just be like “Hey database, please tell me where this file is”, right? That’s where the SQL queries come in, they are the language you can speak to your databases in and issue-specific commands.
How to Backup WordPress Database:-
This article specifically deals with backing up WordPress’s “database” and not the whole WordPress website.
Okay so let’s get down to business.
#1:- Backup Your WordPress Database Using Cpanel:-
This is my favorite method as it’s the simplest one to backup the WordPress Database.
Login to your Cpanel, and search for Backup> Backup Wizard.
Once on the next page, just click on the Backup button.
On the next page, just click on the Mysql Databases option.
This would take you to the page which has all your “databases”. Just click on the database you want to backup.
Done! You’ll get a .sql.gz file downloaded on your browser! Which you can use to restore your SQL database anytime. (I’ll show you how in the next piece, and then I’ll update this link, so do check back, that’s like in 24hours!)
Done! This was one of the easiest ways to backup your WordPress database. But wait, I’ve got other recipes for you too.
#2:- Backup Using a Plugin:-
There’s this tiny little light-weight plugin called Wp-Db-Backup you can use to backup your database on WordPress. (Nope I’m not affiliated to, or in partnership with the product or the owner in any way. I’m just listing it here cause it does the job!)
- Download Wp-Db-Backup.
- Install and activate it on your WordPress installation.
Then, log in to your WordPress dashboard, and click on Tools>Backup!
Now just click on the Backup Now button to backup your WordPress Database.
So well yeah that’s like a two-click process to get your WordPress database backed up! Guess what; you can even get the backup E-mailed to you! And of course, you can download it.
If that wasn’t enough for this free of cost plugin, it also lets you schedule your WordPress Database Backups!
So that was it folks on How to Backup WordPress Database! I’m sure I didn’t leave anything out, and I made this process as simple as possible.
