How to Upload a Video to Youtube

Youtube is known to almost everyone. Watching Youtube is like a habit for most of us. We often view videos that have been uploaded by our favorite YouTubers, but have you ever thought of uploading your own videos to youtube?? Has the question, how to upload a video to Youtube, ever crossed your mind?

Yes, you heard me correct! It’s damn easy to upload video to youtube and share your favorite videos to the entire world. Because if you have something interesting/knowledgeable, then why not to share it with the world??

How To Upload a Video To Youtube

To upload your videos on youtube, you need to have a Youtube account. Mind you, there is no separate account for youtube. Youtube channel comes associated with every google account we create.

It means if you have a google account, you can sign in to youtube with the same you do’t have to create a separate account for youtube. But if you don’t have one, you need to create one in order to upload your videos to Youtube.

So I’m skipping this part since we all know how to create a google account. Now I’m coming to the step by step tutorial on how to upload a video on youtube.

#How To Upload Videos To Youtube Via Computer

If you are a computer user, this section of my guide is for you. If your video is kind of a tutorial or something similar, chances are that it’s there on your computer. So read the steps very carefully to upload video to Youtube via computer.

Step 1. First and foremost, login to your Youtube account. For this, click on the blue Sign in button on the top left of the page. Enter your Gmail ID and password to which you want to upload your video.

Step 2. Once you are signed in, click on the Upload button, located on the top left of the page. If you didn’t find the option, just see left to your image. The screenshot is given below if you still can’t see the option.

Step 3. Before you upload the file, choose the video privacy settings. By default the privacy settings is Public. It means the video would be available publicly after upload. But you can change it to private or unlisted if you want.

This option I’ve highlighted in the below screenshot.

Step 4. Now it’s time to upload the video file from your computer. There are two ways to perform this action. Once is to drag and drop the file and the second way is by selecting the file to upload to Youtube.

For this click on the arrow on the upward direction and navigate through the video file you want to upload. I’m not providing the screenshot for this, you can see this option in the above screenshot.

Step 5. Once the file is selected, you’ll see a progress bar of upload. It may take some time to complete the upload depending upon the file size.

Step 6. While the file is uploading, you can enter all the necessary information about the video. Which includes basic info like the title of the video, description(few line to let the viewers learn more about the video), and meta tag.

You can set the privacy of the video on this page as well. Moreover, you can also do advanced settings by going on the Advanced tab.

Step 7. Once you are done with the settings part, your video is ready to be published. Just the hit the Publish button on the top of the page and BOOM, congrats your first video is live!

#How To Upload Videos On Youtube Via Android

Like the computer, uploading videos on Youtube is extremely easy even from Android. Once you have a video to upload on Youtube, you are good to go. Just follow the below steps.

Step 1. Open the Youtube app on your android. I’m assuming that you already have Youtube app installed on your phone, if not then go to google play store and install from there.

Step 2. Once the app is open, Sign into your Youtube account.

Step 3. Now go to the Account   Tab. See the below screenshot if you find it difficult to understand.

Step 4. As sooner you’ll go to the Account tab, just tap the Upload icon(The red upward arrow) on the top of the screen.

Step 5. Now navigate through the video you want to upload, once done just tap over the video to select it.

Step 6. After the selection of the video, you can see a small pop-up, asking you to select if you want to upload your video via wi-fi or Data pack. You can select any, as per your choice.

Step 7. Now add the details of the video like title, description etc like we learned above. In the supported device, video trimming is also available. You can trim the video by using the trim handles.

Once all the setting part is done, your video is ready to be published on Youtube.

Step 7. Just hit the upload/publish button and that’s it.
