How to transfer a domain name?

Since Godaddy is one of the biggest domain registrars in this sphere. So, we will first see how to transfer a domain name to Godaddy from another registrar and how to transfer ownership of a domain name?

We have used Godaddy for illustration purposes. You will be glad to know that almost all the processes are pretty much the same for other registrars also. You just need to understand the basic concept. This way you will easily be able to transfer domains to any registrar.

So, let’s get started:

To Godaddy.

There are a few things that you should keep in your mind before proceeding forward and those are:

1) This method will work only if your domain extension is .com, .org or .net only. If you have any top-level domain (TLD’s) like .biz, .fr or others, then you will have to follow other methods.

2) Domain name transfer may take some time. So, your patience is much needed.

3) In general, you are not allowed to transfer your domain in the first 60 days time period starting from the date you purchased the domain. You are not able to update your contact information, first or last name of the registrant.

There are eight steps in the process. Some of the steps are quick and straightforward. So, let’s get started with the same:

The first four steps may be called preliminary or preparation steps which ensure the smooth domain transferring processes.

1) In this first step, you need to make sure that the domain which you are to transfer to your Godaddy account is not privately registered. Make sure to check this one.

2) In the second step, you need to unmark your domain name from your current registrar.

3) In this step, you need to visit whois.icann.org to ensure and verify that the contact information which you have provided is correct or not. Also, check that if your domain name is eligible for transfer or not.

4) In this final preparation step, you need to get an authorization or EPP code from your current registrar.

With these preliminary preparation steps, your domain name is now ready for the actual domain transfer process and this you will have to look for our next four phases. These four stages will be the one which will contribute to the domain transfer process.

5) In this step, you will have to purchase a domain name transfer from Godaddy.

6) Now, you will have to wait for the email from Godaddy that will contain two purchase codes. We will make use of the codes in the later part of this transfer process.

7) Now, you will have to use the authorization or the EPP code which you have managed to get in step 4 of the preparation part. You need to enter the EPP code along with the two purchase codes which you have got through the Godaddy mail in the previous step. This will approve the domain name transfer.

Once done with this, you are just a step away from transferring the domain name to GoDaddy.

8) This final step is concerned with monitoring the status of your domain transfer process.

It is advised to be patient because the transfer process may take up to seven business days starting from the date on which you entered the approval codes.

Once the transfer is complete, Godaddy will make you aware of the same. Also, you may face some downtime. So, do not panic and be patient.

From Godaddy.

The steps are pretty much the same. But for the sake of convenience lets have a quick glance over the process once again.

1) Check your administrative contact information. You may also need to cancel your protected registration or private registration service.

2) Now, you will need to unlock your domain name from the Godaddy administrative dashboard. Just do the required and proceed with the next steps.

3) You need to get an authorization code from Godaddy which you will need on a later part of the process. Some of the registrars do not require this. So, make a check for the prerequisites.

4) Now, you need to authorize the domain name transfer process on your new domain registrar.

5) The registry will notify the Godaddy system, and they will mail you with further instructions. You only need to follow the onscreen instructions as it will do the needful for you.

Kindly take note that, if somehow you do not accept or deny the transfer request then Godaddy will automatically transfer the domain name within five days. Kindly, pay heed to this and take appropriate actions.

6) The registry will also notify your new registrar about the transfer.

7) Once the transfer is complete, you will be informed by email. As we have already told you that domain transfer between registrars may take up to seven working days. So, your patience is much needed.

Here are some quick tips for you regarding how to transfer a domain name to another registrar?
1) Make sure that you are equipped with any alternative email ID as you are more likely to lose the access email service in correspondence to your domain name.

2) As we have already mentioned that you are not allowed to transfer the domain name within the first 60 days either from the purchase date or the transfer date. So, make sure to pay heed to this.

3) Make sure to read the support pages of your new registrar and in any case of haphazard, feel free to reach them via the customer support.

How to use Google Analytics? I know it’s a question that’s been scribbling itself in your mind for a long time by now, or else you wouldn’t have been on this page, and well that’s a perfectly legit question too.

In fact, Google Analytics is so vast and huge, that learning it totally is like learning how to work on a brand new Operating system, so if you aren’t exactly familiar with all the features of Google Analytics, I’d say you aren’t alone.

And, Google Analytics is one of the best analytics tools ever built on the internet. And the best part? It’s free! Although there’s no official “Google Analytics WordPress” version yet, It’s totally possible and easy to add Google Analytics to WordPress, and that’s what I’ll be guiding you through today.

WordPress Google Analytics is the combination of Google Analytics and WordPress; it has the potential to revamp your blog to another level, how?

Let’s have a look at that:-

How to Setup Google Analytics:-

Well, in order to use Google Analytics, you have to have the knowledge of how to add Google Analytics to WordPress, so yeah let’s work around that.

You should login to Google Analytics as the first step of this How to use Google Analytics guide.

Once you’re in, click on the Admin button at the top.

On the next page, under the property (website) on which you are trying to add google analytics tracking code,  click on tracking info.

A slider would now reveal some options for you; you need to click on the tracking code option in order to add Google Analytics to WordPress.

On the next screen, you’ll get your Google Analytics tracking code, copy it.

Now, login to your WordPress Dashboard and go to Settings>Editor.

Now, find the Main Index Template (index.php) file on your screen.

Now, you have to paste the code you copied just below the header function.

Once you’ve done that, click on Update button.

Done! Your analytics is up and running.

How to Use Google Analytics:-

If I show you how to add Google Analytics to WordPress, but I don’t show you how to use it, it’s like I’m buying you a car, but not teaching you how to drive.

So okay, here’s what you can use Google analytics for.

Login to your Analytics dashboard again. And you’ll see all the properties verified by you, just click on the one for whose Analytics you want to get into.

Now, you’d be taken to your control room. Well, the dashboard in plain English.

This is where you’ll be getting some of the most sensitive data for your website:-

  • Sessions: – That’s the total sessions for your website for any certain date you might be viewing.
  • Page Views: – This is the total number of page views for your site. Don’t confuse it with hit or traffic, because a single person can view many different pages on the blog or website and it’s counted as a pageview. Not just that, if a user even refreshes a page, that gets captured as a pageview too, so yeah that’s what it is.
  • Bounce Rate: – This is important as it’s also a ranking factor.

The bounce rate is the percentage of people who went to other sites or went back to the search engine from your website after arriving on it. Now, when do people go to other sites, or back to search engines? When they don’t find relevant info on the site to what they’re looking for, right?

That tells Google that your blog/website is not relevant for the keyword on which it’s ranking, and thus your SERP might be reduced.

  • Average Session Duration: – This is the amount of time a certain person spends on your site. This means the average of the amount of time that each new person spends reading your blog. See the reason the top guys keep talking about “longer content”? Well because longer content keeps people engaged!
  • New Sessions: – New sessions is the percentage of “New people landing on your site”, out of the total hits. For e.g., if you get 100 hits a day, the “unique” guys who have never visited your site earlier comprise of the “new sessions”.

How to Use Google Analytics Demographics Info:–

I personally use this stuff to understand my audience better; once I know where they’re from, what language they speak and what device or operating system they’re using, trust me selling to them (considering I’m primarily with the Affiliate thing) becomes a lot easier.

Languages:- Not a lot to say here, the languages option shows you the languages spoken by the people who land on your site, the total number of sessions and the percentage of it.

Country: – Well, this will just show you the countries of the people from where they land on your site. Economically speaking, US traffic is the most strong, and potentially viable place to get traffic from.

Browsers: – If you’re more of an advanced kind of WordPress geek, there are a number of ways you can use this info for. There are certain scripts, plugins, and stuff that can be customized to load differently on different browsers, well there’s a whole different story to it.

Screen Resolution: – If you aren’t optimizing your site for different Screen Resolutions, you’re leaving not just money, but even rankings on the table.

Yeah after the Mobilegeddeon, responsive design became a must, so you need to know how much of your traffic is from which kind of resolution, right?


Google Analytics has a treasure to itself, but I can’t list out all the features, right? But I couldn’t miss listing this one out; you go to Acquisitions>Source/Medium and you’ll get a detailed insight of almost every single traffic metric you might imagine from your traffic.

It’ll show you where the traffic is coming from, how many session, what’s the percentage and everything else.

How to Submit Site to Bing?




As the title suggests, I am talking about how to submit a site to Bing in this article, right? Well as you already know, Bing is a search engine, one of the direct competitors of Google.

Although Google has taken over the market tremendously still, Bing continues to be the second-largest most used search engine on this planet.

But then you would ask me, why would you want to submit site to Bing, right? Yeah, that’s a legit question, and well let me take the liberty of answering that to you, 

Cause I personally believe, just doing something is not enough if you don’t know why you’re doing that, right? So yeah I think it’s fair of me to let you know why you need to submit your site to Bing.

Why Submit Site to Bing?

Well let me talk in general I mean not just Bing, but you should submit your site to almost all the leading search engines definitely Bing is one of them, and that’s the reason I am covering how to submit your site to Bing in this article.

Ok, so technically why do you create a website in the first place, to be found on the Internet, right?

So submitting a site to search engine is what enables you to be found on the Internet, just creating a website and not submitting it to the search engines won’t do for you.

Well, your site gets indexed automatically too, because they got advanced crawlers which crawl the Internet and then index the web pages that are relevant, but still you need to submit your site to search engines because otherwise you never know how long it is going to take for the crawlers to crawl your site.

Submitting your site to search engines is like Knocking on the door and saying “ Hey Search Engine! Here I am”.  And you definitely should knock on that door if you are serious about your website.

Ok, not just that, submitting your site to search engines help you with your organic traffic, I mean traffic directly from search engines.  So well that’s one of the best kinds of traffic you will ever get, and the best part is it free, meaning you don’t have to spend a single buck on the promotion of your content.

Don’t tell me you still don’t want to submit your site to being right away, don’t worry I will cover how to submit your site to Google too in the later articles, but the reason I am focusing on Bing right now is that not a lot of people focus on it, simple. (It’s good to leverage what others are missing huh?) After all, it’s free to search engine submission, right?

So well here is how it works, Bing has Spiderbots (just algorithms actually), they are the ones in charge of crawling the internet, and indexing your sites, but well they have to crawl millions of sites daily, so you don’t want to be missed right? So you submit your website to Search Engine> It’s placed on a queue > Indexed shortly thereafter.

How to Submit Site to Bing:-

I already said, the search engines know the importance of submitting a site to them, so they have made the process easy enough for us.

So, head over to Bing Webmaster Tools, and log in or Signup. (Well it’s free both ways.)


Once you log in, you will see a beautifully placed button, right at the center of the screen greeting you to add your site. So well, click on it.


On the next screen, fill in the details that the page asks of you. Well, they are just basic info, say your Name, your Blog URL and stuff like that.


And then finally click on Save.


The next page that comes up is the verification page. Of course, you need to verify it to Bing that you are the legal owner of the site, right? Or else anyone could add any site to his dashboard and pretty much cause havoc to it.

So yeah, the easiest method to verify ownership is to copy the header tag.


And then, go to your WordPress dashboard, then click on Appearance, and then Editor.


Then click on the Theme Header option.


And then, add the code you copied from the Bing dashboard right below the <head> tag, and click on Update file.


Well once you’ve updated the file, go back to click on the Verify button on the Bing page, and it will redirect you to your dashboard.


Well, guess what? You just submitted your site to Bing! Yeah, wasn’t that hard right?

What Can I do With Bing Site Dashboard?

Once you’ve successfully submitted your URL to Bing, you’ll get a sidebar like the below screenshot on the left side of the page.


It has a lot of options, like a lot. So I’ll just take you on a ride through some of the most useful options.

Disavow Links: – It’s the tool that is going to turn into your Savior, your Messiah when your site is hit by some kind of Spam backlinks penalty. Well, meaning if your site gets some unnatural, unwanted links, this is the tool that’ll help you get rid of them.

Click on the Disavow Links button, and you’ll be taken to this page:-


Now, I personally feel the disavow feature at Bing is much more advanced, and easier to use compared to the Disavow option at Google Webmaster tools.

With the Google WMT, you’ve to upload a .txt file with a list of all the domains you’d want to be disavowed, but well with Bing Webmaster Tools, you can input the Domains and URL’s you want to be disavowed directly!

So yeah, just select the domain option from the drop-down menu,  and enter the URL  you want to disavow in the format http://www.URL.com.


Messages: – Messages is where all the Issues and reports regarding your Site will appear. If there’s something wrong with your site, if something is causing a problem, this is the screen that will hold it all.

How to Become a Blogger?




This couldn’t get any better, I mean this exactly is the kind of topic I can write the whole day on, and still not feel tired. So yeah let’s talk a bit about the mechanism and manufacturing infrastructure that makes a man, into a blogger. Well straight and simple, what I’m sharing in this piece is how to become a blogger.

Well, I have been 6 long years in the industry, meaning I have been in this industry since I was 13, so yeah I think even if I have not collected anything else I did collect what a blogger means.

Who is a Blogger?

Hey, ever wondered who is a blogger exactly? I mean as the name suggests, anyone who blogs, is a blogger right? Well yes, but no.

There are two typical categories of blogger, I mean two categories I can broadly classify the bloggers into.

The first one, of course, is a hobbyist blogger, a well meaning blogger who owns blogs just for the sake of their hobby and that they are not looking into making any serious profit out of it.

You might be a travel guy and you might want to share your story out with the world, well you are a blogger, you might be a cook and you would want to share your recipes with the world well you are a blogger again, but well there is a difference between you and the professional blogger.

A professional blogger is a blogger who takes it up as a profession, and he makes a living out of blogging. (well all the stories you heard about working and earning from home, they were not fairy tales, not all of them at least.)

Well, people often confuse professional bloggers with people who are masters in a field, I mean you can be a hobbyist blogger, and you still might be a master in what you share. If you are a great cook you can share your secret recipes and you need not be a professional blogger.

On the other hand on a daily basis, I meet at least a couple guys who seem to try to take blogging as a profession, but they are not masters on the topics they are covering so well it’s clear that you don’t need to be a master in something to be a professional blogger.

But well yeah then again comes the difference of maintaining the blog and professionalism, I mean if you are just a hobbyist blogger you would not give a lot of shit to search engine queries, keywords or how your blog looks like.

Yeah you might do it on a personal level but that is not something you would spend a fortune on,  on the other hand, if you are a professional blogger you do need to worry about Search Engine Optimisation, look and feel of your design, the speed, and a lot of back-end stuff like the themes, the plugins, the CDN’s, etc.

So I can say that the hobbyist blogger is a lot cheaper than being a professional blogger but then again being obvious blogger doesn’t pay you while being a professional blogger can make you a fortune.

How to Become a Blogger?

Well becoming a blogger is not really that hard, becoming a professional blogger is. Well, they all start from the same originating point. 

So either you want to be a professional blogger, or a just a hobbyist, there are couple things you’re going to need for sure, there’s no other way around them.

Well let me list the basic requirements (No, they don’t cost a fortune!)

  • Domain. (Something so that your visitors can find you, for e.g., Knowledgecage.com)
  • A server (In order to store the files, the text, audio-video needs a place to be uploaded, right?)
  • A CMS:- WordPress or Blogger. (Both are totally free.)
  • What? Looking for the fourth requirement? You’re good to go, nothing else required! (I just like to play around a bit you know, sorry if it annoyed you.)

How do You Start a Blog?

Well as I already said, you’re going to need the two things we talked about. Well, I’ll be soon (Like maybe in the next 48hours), writing a detailed guide on how to buy a domain name, but for now, let’s give you a sneak-peek, and well that should be enough to get you started for now.

You need a domain, and that you can get from Godaddy or Bigrock. Well, the pricings are similar, not a lot of difference, so you can go with either one of them.

Just head over there, key in your Domain URL. (I’ll be taking Godaddy for an example.) Now click on Search.


If the domain is available, you’ll see it’s available, so just proceed. If it says it isn’t available, just think of a different URL. So well see my domain is available, Now, I just click on Select, and then Proceed to cart.


Then finally, you need to click on Proceed to checkout.


Once that’s done, you’ve got your domain, yeah that was all that you had to do.

Okay so now you need to get the servers , well it’s just as easy as getting the Domain, you can get one from Bluehost, or Hostgator or any other company you prefer.

Just go to Bluehost and select your plan.(See? They’re dirt cheap).


Well once you’ve got your plan, just proceed to payout and make the payment. (I’m not listing out a step by step process mainly because this is a “how to be a blogger” oriented post, and not it’s technicalities, and secondly because buying this is easier than buying goods off Amazon)

Once that’s done you’re good with the servers too.

So now, all you need is WordPress, right? Well it’s easier than most people think, and WordPress is advanced enough, so all you need to do is, search for Softaculous on your Cpanel (Softaculous is the “home” of all apps and CMS’s on the Cpanel).


And then, find WordPress in it, and click install.


Done! Well yeah, your site is ready. Now you can just log in to your WordPress and start writing new posts, by clicking on Add new from the dashboard.


Congratulations, the blogger within you was just born!

How to Start a Blog for Free on Blogger:-

You can go with Blogger Blogs too, they are free, means well they don’t need servers, so all you’d need to buy are the domains.

They are owned and operated by Google, so well there are quite a number of restrictions, that’s the reason this is not my first choice, but still, you’re free to go with them.

All you need to do is, head over to blogger.com and signup for a free account. Or if you have a Gmail ID, you can just log in.


Then click on New blog option.


On the popup that comes over, select your Blog Title, and URL.


Once you’ve done that, your blog is ready! Just click on the small pen icon on the screen to start blogging!


How to Make Money Blogging?

Well, there are over 50 ways to make money off a blog. But well not all of them are as easy, or straightforward. So let me make it easy for you.

Adsense: – Well it’s the most popular method right now to make money. All you have to do is, set up Adsense on your blog, and you get paid for every time a user clicks on it.

Affiliate Marketing: – Well, it’s like you can write reviews and promote someone else’s products. Like maybe an e-book, a digital software or something, and you get paid a % of it for each sale.

Third-Party Ads: –  You can sign up on sites like Buysellads.com (It’s the only one I’ve ever used), what they do is, they connect you with advertisers, who want their banners advertised.

You put them up on your site, and you get paid for a certain number of impressions. Say you get paid $100/10000 impressions or something like that, so yeah that’s how it works.

These aren’t all the methods, I’m pretty sure you can think of a lot more ideas and methods to make money off your blog, but these are the ones who’ve made a reputation for them in the industry, can be trusted, and yield results.

The Redirection:-

So once you’ve done the permalinks thing, the last thing that remains to be done is the redirection.

  • Redirecting Blogger Blog to Redirect to the WordPress site.
  • 301 redirecting posts to exact permalinks on the WordPress site.

Go to your Blogger Dashboard, and click on Templates.

Note:- Replace the Example.com in the above code with your new WordPress blog URL. And save the template.

Done! Now just one last piece of work left for you to finish off. Login to your Cpanel, and go to File Manager Public_Html

Then go to Blog Name> Wp-Content > Themes > Theme Name >there you’d find your functions.php file and then right Click on functions.php>edit.

301 is the best redirection protocol ensuring the least ranking loss. (100% ranking loss is “impossible”, it always loses some juice, but this causes the least damage and you can come back up in less than a week!)
