Don’t you have a smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow? That’s why you are here, right?
If you like to play with the phone’s different settings, you want to check the running apps as well. Checking the running apps gets you the information about memory usage. According to the same report, you can limit the usage of memory sucking apps for better performance.
Here in this article, you are going to read how to access Android’s list of running apps on 6.0 Marshmallow. Is it different from the lower versions? Well, let’s find out here.
How to Manage Running Apps in Android 6.0?
So yeah, accessing the running applications on Marshmallow isn’t the same as it used to be. If you are a newbie user and, you want to access the list of active apps, you can’t do it alone.
Why because Google has hidden the settings. But don’t worry! You can open the same without sweating much with the help of this tutorial.
But before we do, I want to let you know how people managed running apps on Android 5.x and below.
N.B- I am not dealing with the apps running foreground. You can do it easily by tapping on the recent apps capacitive (or onscreen) button.

How to Access Running Apps List on Lollipop and Below?
Google directly provided the option to check the list of running apps on Android Lollipop and versions below that.
In case you have a device with such versions, check out the steps given below to open the running apps list.
Step 1: Pick up your phone and, open Settings. Whenever we want to change something on Android, the Settings panel is what you must access.
Step 2: Scroll down below to see a specific option called Apps. Don’t hesitate to tap on the same to proceed further.
Step 3: Once you reach the next screen, you can see a Running tab. Switch to the same and, there you go!
You can see the running apps and services on the screen.
So it’s time to have a look at how we can do the same on Marshmallow.
How to Check Running Apps List in Android 6.0 Marshmallow?
As I said earlier, you can’t open the list of apps running in the background like you used to do on the lower version. You need to activate a feature to get you this extra option.
Apparently, not every Android user wants to know how to check running apps in Android 6.0. That’s why Google hid this feature.
But they haven’t really removed it from the Android ecosystem that you can access the list by going through a few simple steps.
Follow the steps given below to open the list of running apps on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It’s not a mammoth task, I swear!
Step 1: Pick up your Android phone and open Settings. At this point, I want you to ensure the fact that your phone is running on Android 6.0.
In order to do the same, scroll down to the bottom and, open About the phone. You can see an option called the Android version on the next screen.
Check whether you see 6.0 or higher beneath the same.
In case your device is running on a lower version, feel free to go back to the previous section in this article to manage the running apps.
Step 2: Once you make sure about your Android version, don’t go back because the screen you get after About the phone is what we need here.
I have already told you that we need to enable a feature to get the running apps list. That feature is called Developer options.
You can’t see the same on a brand new Android device. Users who need extra privileges and features enable it with a simple tweak.
Scroll down to the bottom of the same screen where you checked the Android version. Can you see Build number there?
N.B.- You can’t see the Build number on the same place on every device. Phones running on stock Android don’t have any difference. But on phones like Samsung and LG, you have to choose Software info from the About page screen.
Step 3: Continuously tap seven times on Build number until you see a toast notification like ‘You are now a developer’ or ‘You become a developer’ (may vary from device to device).
If you don’t see the same, you did something wrong. Make sure you tap seven simultaneous times.
Step 4: Now go back to the Settings panel and, you can see a new option there right below the About phone called Developer options. Open it.
Step 5: Tapping on the Developer options menu gets you to a whole new screen with a lot of unknown features to you.
I don’t recommend you should enable any of them now as what you need is the way to access running apps.
You will see an option labeled Running services there. Tap on the same.
Boom! This is what you are looking for. You can now see all the apps and services running on the background and foreground on your device.
Step 6: To cease any running process, you have to choose any app you want to close and tap on the Stop button. That’s it.
Alternatively, you can stop the app by accessing Settings>> Apps>> Choose any app>> Press force close.
I recommend the second way to close the apps whereas you can use the first method to stop services running in the background.
I think you know how to manage running apps in Android 6.0. As an additional detail, I explained the method for lower versions as well.
I hope I have explained everything without any scope for confusion.

How to Fix Android’s ‘Insufficient Storage Available’ Error Message?
Storage is an illusion, if you’ve got a device that gives you 32GBs of storage, take my word for it that you’d not get 32GBs in usable storage anyway.
The point being the devices promote themselves as having those GBs of storage, but it’s like promoting a 100-page book saying it’s 102 pages, including the covers. That’s because the devices run on Operating systems and there are other system files that need space, and that space is included in your total space.
So basically at the end of the day, you end up googling answers to questions like How to fix the error: There is insufficient space on this device. Not just Android, iPhone users are also facing these issues. So, if you have an iPhone, here is how to get more storage on iPhone.
Now there’s no way you can get to use the whole 32-64 of whatever GB of space your device claims to have, but there are solutions which will free up most of the space for you so that instead of losing 10% of the space, you’d be compromising only around 5%.
But before I can answer your question on How to fix Android’s ‘insufficient storage available’ error message, let’s start from the basics, why does this space-scarcity occur in the first place?
What Eats up Android Space?
1. Operating System:- This one is the prime space-eater. Well, you can’t exactly blame it because you need an operating system to run your device on. Also, you need to understand that it’s “unchangeable”. Meaning whatever space your OS is consuming, it can’t be “cut” or deducted.
2. Apps Cache/Junk Files:- Whenever you run an app, be it Messenger or just your gallery, it saves certain preferences and data in your apps cache.
I’m sure you might have noticed that the pictures in your gallery load slower the first time, but if your open your gallery the second time, the picture previews come up exceptionally fast.
That happens because the gallery stored the data the first time and hence it didn’t need to load it the second time. Now that data needs space to be stored right?
Although I think you’ve already figured out that the cache is actually beneficial for you and makes your cellphone experience much more “faster”.
3. Browser Cache: Browser cache is also just about the same thing as the app cache, just that it stores data about websites and your choices.
Meaning it speeds up your browsing experience if you visit a website regularly, it remembers if you like ads or not, and other personal details as such.
Again this is something that is actually “helpful” and not something that’s totally harming you or your device.
4. Updates:- They can be whole system updates or just third-party app updates. Most of the time a newer version is at least some megabytes heavier in size than the last version.
Now take that and calculate it for all the apps you have on your device, even if just 50% of them auto-update, I would say you’re looking at quite a bit of storage space.
Not to mention the “system updates”, which normally come in sizes over 200-300mbs. So bottom lime, updates need space too.
And these are just some of the most common “space-consuming” elements your device has, there are other technicalities too but they’re too complicated as far as boundaries of this article go.
How to Fix Android’s ‘Insufficient Storage Available’ Error Message:-
So we’re down to the part you’ve been waiting for. I’ll walk you through clearing (or disabling) the elements which cause the error, so here goes your solution to How to fix Insufficient Space on Device.
Method #1:- Use a Cleaner:-
Now it totally depends on your android version and OS. I’ve got a LeEco 2 Max which has an in-built cleaner. In case you don’t have one, you can just go to Playstore and download Turbo Cleaner (It’s one of the many available free cleaners you can go with.)
In my case, I just fire up the cleaner and it shows me my junk data.
As you can see, I’ve over 1GB of junk files! That’s a lot of junk, so all I’ve to do is, tap on the cleanup button at the bottom of the screen.
See? It’s all gone.
Now in case you’re using any other cleaner, the interface might be a bit different but it’ll be more or less similar, you just have to tap once on the “clean” button and it’ll do the job.
Method #2:- Manual Cleaning:-
In case you don’t have any cleaners, you can also clean the junk files manually. (Not as efficiently and thoroughly as the cleaners may be but you’ll free up considerable space.)
Go to your settings, and then click on Apps.
And then slide left till you reach the “installed” apps screen.
Now just tap on the first app > click on Storage
And then tap on the “clear cache” button. (Remember that you can also “clear data”, but in some cases that would lead you to lose all the “progress”, so in short clearing “data” is fine with apps, but try not to tap that if you’re cleaning a game or something that has your progress saved”.)
As you can see I don’t have lots of data as I just cleaned my system. Well, that’s about it, you’ll have to manually tap on each app and repeat the process till all the apps have been cleaned.
(That’s the reason I prefer the cleaner apps! Much faster.)
So yeah mission accomplished, this should also answer your questions like How to Fix “InSufficient Space On The Device” Download Error in case you had them. Also see, how to check data usage on iPhone.
So that was it, folks, that’s all I had on How to Fix Android’s ‘Insufficient Storage Available’ Error Message. I hope this solved your problems regarding android storage space? Along with storage data, internet data is also limited. If you want to reduce data usage on a Smartphone, here are 5 ways to reduce data usage on a Smartphone.
If it did, I’d appreciate your feedback in the comments section. If it didn’t, you can also leave your questions, problems, and doubts over there.
Also if you’ve got better and easier ways to accomplish this, you can use the comment box for that too.
Disclaimer:- I or Knowledgecage isn’t in any way affiliated to TurboCleaner or any other app used in this tutorial, you’re free to use any other app according to your own preference. They were used just for the sake of explaining the process and steps.

Features of Showbox for Android
The following are the features of Showbox, which I found enticing as a media consumer and Android user.
#1. Easy to Use Interface

Don’t worry! Showbox isn’t one among them as it organizes everything in an easy to pick manner. Once you install the app, you won’t have to wander around to find your favorite video. All you have to do is just using the search field. Type the name into the field and hit enter. There you go!
You will find different genres on this app, into which the videos are arranged.
#2. No Registration or Sign is Needed
Yeah, you heard it right! You don’t have to go through a series of tedious registration steps to use Showbox.
You have to download the APK file and install the app. There you go! From the very first moment after installation, you can start consuming the media content without any issues.
Unlike other video streaming apps, Showbox doesn’t compel you to sign up for their service as well. So, we can call it as a plug and play service due to the maximum convenience it offers.
#3. Tons of Movies and TV Shows
Showbox on Android has an extensive collection of videos. Sometimes, we go crazy for a specific movie or a particular television show. The disappointing fact is that there’s no guarantee of the availability of the same.
But Showbox won’t make you disappointed. The developers of this application keep on adding more and more movies, and TV shows regularly to get you the best media-consuming experience.
As you read, all you have to do is finding your favorite video by making use of the genre classification or search field.
#4. Different Video Quality
Some video streaming services provide the content only in one quality. Owing to the higher quality, you can’t taste the sweetness of video streaming while you use a comparatively low- speed connection.
Some other services provide you with two video qualities. This one again sucks when you want the quality in between those two. Here comes the importance of the Showbox Android app.
Showbox offers different video qualities for every type of Internet connections. Just choose your favorite video, select the quality and start streaming. It is as simple as that.
I know you are waiting for the download link. If that is the case, skip this section.
#5. Option to Download Videos
For a person with a low- speed internet connection, streaming will not always be a viable option. So he/she tries to download the content to watch the same later without any stutter.
Not all video streaming services are the same. Some of them don’t offer a download options whereas some do. Showbox falls into the second category that you can choose the video quality, and download the file.
Of course, the duration of the download solely depends on the speed of your internet connection and the size of the chosen video.
But once it is finished, you can watch it without buffering.

How to Turn Off Call Forwarding
Call forwarding or call diverting is a telephony feature, which redirects a telephone call to another destination. This telephony feature is mainly used by most of the business concerns to maintain their calls with clients.
Call forwarding enhances communication with clients and customers. Most often call forwarding is proved to be a vital part of big firms and businesses. Similarly, it can also be used in our daily life as well. For example, if you have shut your phone for some reason then definitely there are chances you can miss your important calls.
In that case, what would you do? You obviously can not inform all your friends and colleagues individually to not call on your previous number but on the new one.
So, in such situations call forwarding can be the best helper for you. You can set your new number on your phone diverting feature. So that whenever anyone will call you on your previous number, their call would be forwarded to your new number.
Most often call forwarding is way too important as I said above but not all the time. As we all know everything has some good sides and some bad sides as well. Similarly, forwarding calls can also be a headache for people sometimes. Reasons might be many, one of the prime reasons can be the inundated calls.
For example, if your business owner has set up your phone number where the forwarded calls are intended to receive can make you very annoyed indeed. Though it might not be the point of concern for many people, but for some, it can be a matter of worry!
So in that case, you might wonder for such guides like how to turn off call forwarding, how to stop call forwarding or how to unforward calls.
How to Turn Off Call Forwarding
Turning off call forwarding is a quite easy procedure. However, call forwarding feature is most often very useful, but if you really want to learn how to cancel call forwarding, then follow the below guide.
- Dial *73 on your phone.
- You will hear a message that the feature is successfully activated.
- That is all. Your call forwarding feature would be disabled from the phone.
This is the most common method that can be used almost all the phones including smartphones. But sometimes due to the network failure or in any cases, if you are unable to stop call forwarding by the above method then you can do that manually on your Smartphone.
Below, I have covered some of the devices where I have shared the procedure for stopping forwarded calls.
Turn Off Call Forwarding in iPhone
Call forwarding is basically of three types, Always forward, forward when busy, Forward when unanswered and last forward when unreachable. The procedure to stop forwarding is all the same in all the types. Let’s head to the procedure given below.
Step 1: To disable call forwarding in iPhone firstly go to Settings page by tapping on the setting icon from the home screen.
Step 2: Scroll down to the bottom to find the option, Phone. Once you get it tap on it.
Step 3: Now under Phone option, you will see various options including Call Forwarding.
Step 4: Now since you are here to learn how to stop call forwarding, you definitely want to make it disabled. So simply toggle the button Off to make it disable.
That is it!! Call forwarding has stopped from your device.
Now whenever you feel the need of enabling it, you can do that easily. Simply follow the above procedure to reach at the same option then click on the call forwarding and toggle the option ON.
While turning ON, you will see an option Forwarding to. Under this option, you can put any number you want your forwarded calls to.
Turn Off Call Forwarding in Android
The procedure to enable/disable call forwarding on Android is almost similar to the method I described above with just a slight difference. Let’s see how to cancel call forwarding on Android devices.
Step 1: First of all go to the Menu button and then select Settings.
Step 2: Now on the setting page, scroll down to find the option, Phone or Call Setting (the name of the option might be different. It may vary from the device’s model to model).
Note: If you don’t find the option Phone or call setting on the settings page, then the option may be placed at the different places on your device. You may find the option under the phone icon on your device home screen.
To find the option call setting, go to Phone icon> Menu button> Call settings. Once you have found the option follow Step 3. If you are using a Dual SIM smartphone, then you may have to choose Call Profile. Just choose the Network on which you wanted to forward the call.
Step 3: Here you will see various phone options. All you need to do is select Call Forwarding from the list of options appearing on the screen.
Step 4: After tapping on the Call forwarding option, you will see multiple options related to call forwarding like always forward, forward when busy, Forward when unanswered and last forward when unreachable.
For all the options you can specify the different numbers once enabled. But as you don’t want to keep call forwarding enabled you can disable it by tapping over the disable option.
Enabling or disabling options are almost the same in almost all the devices with just minor differences. Once you are successful finding the option, disabling call forwarding is just a few steps procedure.
However, the first method I shared that is dialing a number works almost all the devices even on smartphones. So I would suggest you follow the first method instead following these long procedures.
So this was all about how to turn off call forwarding. We hope that you liked this post, And with that, I am wrapping up this article. If you enjoyed reading it and found it useful, don’t forget to share it on social media platforms.
