How to Get a Google Voice Number

Step 1: First of all, Log in to your Google account. To log in to google account, you can use any of your google accounts. Visit www.google.com/voice and enter the credentials.

All the Google's products are unified so you can use same ID and password for all of them which you use for your Gmail account.

And if you Do not have any google account then you will have to create one for you. For this, go to accounts.google.com/NewAccount and fill all the necessary columns and sign up. After you are signed up, log into it.

Step 2: After the login to your account, you have two options to choose from. One is to create a new number for your google account or use your own mobile number.  click on any of them as per your need. If you want to use your mobile number then select the option

If you choose I want a new number then you will see a screen like I have shown in the screenshot. Now enter the Area or Zip code to find the available local numbers and click on Search numbers.

Step 3: Once you type the Area code, all the related numbers will start displaying. Now choose any of them by clicking on the circle next to the number. And click on Continue.

Step 4: Following the previous step, you will need to enter the pin (Personal Identification number) and confirm by filling the same number in the provided box. Once done, check on the I accept Google voice's terms and Privacy Policy. Continue! The screenshot is given below.

Step 5: Clicking on Continue button will lead you to the next step i.e. Add a forwarding phone. Here, you will have to link your number, which will ring whenever someone calls on your Google Voice number.

You can add multi numbers in future if you want.

Step 6: Type the phone number in the box next to the Phone Number and select the phone type. I am quite sure you are getting all the steps clearly. But in case, if you have any perplexity, you can confirm it by the given screenshot.

Step 7: Now here comes the Verification procedure. After you click on the Continue, you will see a verification window. Find the number displaying on the screen and click on the Call me now button to confirm the verification. After a second or so, your screen will prompt to the new screen that is Calling your phone… 

Before clicking on the Call me now Button, make sure yo have your phone nearby to you. Else you may miss the call.

Step 8: Pick the call-up and type the confirmation number mentioned. Subsequently, the screen will appear after confirming the verification that is Congratulation! You have successfully set up Google Voice! Click on Finish. And you are done. As you will see all the rest details appearing on the screen after you click the finish button. 

Moreover, If you want to make any changes to your google voice account, then you will have to go to google voice settings page and make the desired changes there. To go to setting page click on the gear Icon from the top right corner of the screen. You will be landed to a new window, where you can make changes accordingly.

To do so visit setting page by clicking on the gear Icon from the top right corner of the screen. You will be landed to a new window where you can make changes accordingly.

For instance, you can edit and change the number you would like to ring your call to, you can change the forwarded calls setting, apart from that, you can change the text and voicemail by going to the same tap.

In short there are lots more features available over there. Whenever someone send a text to you, you can receive them right on your inbox. You can make calls from your Gmail and lot more. Once you create an account you will get to use various features

    hello thank you for this wonderful tut. but i have a lil problem creating a new google voice. when i try to create it, it doesn’t ask for any pin like things are going well creating it. but at the end i will choose a number, try to confirm it, but it will always tell me “error trying to add your google voice number, try again later”. is there a way out of this please?

After deleting your account,

  1. You'll lose all the connections you've built so far along with the information you've added on your Linkedin account.
  2. Despite deleting your profile on Linkedin, it may still be visible temporarily on various search engines like google, yahoo, bing, etc.
  3. If you notice you get recommendations from Linkedin of people, jobs, skills matching your profile information. If you close your Linkedin account, you may no longer have access to any of them.
  4. You'll lose all the endorsements you have gathered on Linkedin so far and, your profile will no longer be visible on Linkedin.

How To Delete Linkedin

In order to delete your Linkedin profile, you need to follow the below steps.

Mind you, once you delete your account you'll lose all your connections and interest. If you ever want to come back, you'll have to start the whole process all over again and have to build the connections, which might be painful to you!

Now coming to the steps. 

Step 1. The very first step is to log in to your Linkedin account. Open your browser and go to Linkedin. Enter your credentials and click on Sign in.

Step 2. Now once you are on your linked account, you need to go to the privacy and settings page.

For this, hover your cursor over your name on the top right corner of the home page and click on Privacy & Settings. If you didn't understand which option I'm talking about, see the below screenshot.

Step 3. For the security reasons, you may get prompted to sign in again. If so, enter your Linkedin ID and password again and sign in. Once done, you'll see the following screen.

Step 4. In the above screen, you can see the Account option on the left-hand side, click on it.

Step 5. Once you are on the account page, click on Close your account link under helpful links. I've provided the screenshot below in case any doubt!

Step 6. Now before going further, you will have to specify the reason why would you like to close your LinkedIn account? You can select any of the appropriate reason and click on Continue. 

Step 7. The very next moment you'll be asked to verify the account which you want to delete. If the information seems correct to you, then you are good to go. Now click on Verify Account. The screenshot is given below.

But before you click on Verify Account, you'll be notified that “All of the confirmed email addresses associated with the closed account will be available to create a new LinkedIn account or for use with another LinkedIn account within 24 hours of closing your account.”

It means if you drop the plan of deleting your linked account within 24 hours of deletion, you have chances of getting your account data back!

Step 8. If you are thinking that you are done, then hold on, there is still one step left to be followed.

As sooner you click on Verify Account button, you'll be redirected to a page where you will be shown a list of consequences you'll face when you delete your account. (Which I've already told you).

So ignore that and confirm the procedure by clicking on the Close Account button.


That's it, you are done. It may take up to 76 hours to delete your account permanently. Well, I believe the guide was helpful, to you and now you very well know how to delete a LinkedIn account.

But I would again say, deleting the account is not always the solution.

If your reason behind deleting the Linkedin account is getting access to emails from Linkedin, then the issue can be resolved and you can continue with Linkedin. You can follow the below steps to reduce the number of emails you get from LinkedIn.

  • Go to the Privacy & Settings page by hovering the cursor over your name, exactly the same way I told you above.
  • On the left sidebar, you can see the options  Communications. Just tap over it. I've provided a screenshot below to make you understand better.
  • In the links provided, select the Set the frequency of emails under ‘Emails and Notifications'.
  • Once done, you'll be redirected to a window where you can select which type of emails you want and how often you want them. For example, if you want emails of Messages from other members, Updates and news, Messages from LinkedIn, etc. And If you want those emails than what should be the frequency.

There are possibly other solutions for certain problems. But at last, the choice is yours. You know both the consequences of deleting the account and how to delete the LinkedIn account.

  •  Open Oovoo app on your phone or tablet.
  •  Now, enter the credentials and sign into the app.
  • Once you are signed in, touch your Display Name at the top of the screen. Tap on edit icon and type Closed in the display name field.
  • Now following the previous step, tap on your profile photo and then, tap over the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
  • Under the Settings option, tap on the Privacy & Security. Here what you need to do is change your search profile setting so that no one can search your profile. To do so, simply change search preferences to No one.
  • Now tap on the profile photo and remove it.
  • That's all. After a day or two, your account would be deleted permanently. Now all you need to do is remove and uninstall the app from your device so that, you won't mistakenly open it.

How to delete your Oovoo Account from PC

Like we did in the above method, we have to do all the same things again in order to delete Oovoo account from the computer. Follow the below steps and make Oovoo account terminated permanently.

  • The first step is to remove all your personal information given on the app and make yourself unreachable.
  • Once done sign into your Oovoo account by putting your email Id and password.
  • After that, go to  My profile and edit my profile. 
  • Here you will need to make some edits like remove your display picture and type Closed in the display name field. See the screenshot.
  • Once done, again go to settings and then privacy. 
  • In the privacy section, change the search profile setting and make it to “No one”.
  • Afterwards, move to the email section and Under Notifications, uncheck all the boxes provided. In any kinda confusion, you can take the reference of the screenshot given below.
  • And at last, uninstall the Oovoo app from your computer. And your account would be terminated.

For Windows XP: Go to the Start menu> then Control Panel>  select Add or Remove Programs> select ooVoo, then click Remove.

For Vista: Go to the Start menu> then Control Panel> select Programs and Features> Select ooVoo> and click Uninstall.

  • And if you don't want to block that person but want to remove him then tap the Trashcan icon and then Remove.

Once the person is blocked from your account, he/she would no longer be able to see your profile and contact you. But if you have simply removed him/her but not blocked then, he/she can still contact you.

So if you want anyone to not contact you forever, re-add them and then block him.

Note: If you re-add the person, they will not know they were re-added and won't get an invitation either. So without any hesitation, you can block anyone from the account.

Although the help panel is enough to tell you how to mail merge exactly, we have mentioned all the steps on our own to avoid any kinda confusion.

The 6 steps you'll encounter in the whole process of mail merge is given below.

1.. The first step is to select the document type whether it is a letter, envelope or other. Once done, click on the Next: Starting document link below. See the below screenshot if you didn't get what I mean.

2. Now select the starting document. If you have a letter written there, select Use the current document or you can also use the ready to use template offered by word. For this, select the second option that is Start from a template. Or choose the third option Start from the existing document if you have a file saved on your computer and open it.

Once done, click Next: Select recipients and go to the third step.

3. To select the recipients, you can use the existing list on your computer or can create a new one. If you already have an excel sheet or access database, navigate through it and click on Open.

The very next moment, Mail Merge Recipients dialog box will appear showing all the contacts with a checkbox next to it.

You can check or uncheck any person to select/deselect accordingly to control which person should be getting the mail.

Once you are done, click on Ok, select Next: Write your letter and move to step 4.

4. In this step, you need to write your letter if you have not done it so far and add an address block, greeting line or some other information. Just place the cursor on your letter where you would like to add information and select the item, select the template, see the preview and click on ok.

You can add more than one items in this step. Once done, move to the 5th step.

5. In this step, you can preview your letter. Use the arrow highlighted in the below screenshot to see how each recipient will receive the letter, you can modify specific letter if you want.

Once you are ok with everything, it's time to go to the final step which is complete the merge.

6. In the final step, you don't need to do anything but print the letters. In the print dialogue, do the appropriate settings and just click on Print and all your letters will be printed.

That's it, doing mail merge is that simple. It is a simple yet very useful feature offered by Microsoft. If used properly, it comes out to be very handy and helps you save lots of your time and efforts while sending similar mail to multi people.
