How To Enable JavaScript In Your Browser

Javascript is a programming language which is basically used on web pages. Java script is not limited for the certain task such as making alert boxes on websites, creating menus on web pages etc, but it also plays a vital role for web pages to load dynamically. So it’s quite imperative to enable javascript on all browsers to run all the websites smooth and clutter free.

Disabling javaScript on your browsers may create unusual problems like, problem while logging in,  posting comments, reloading the page etc. So for websites to work properly it becomes necessary to enable javascript. Therefore, I had to come up with the guide How to enable JavaScript.

In today’s article, I will cover nearly all the popular web browsers including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla firefox,  Opera, and Safari. Though, almost all browsers have javascript enabled by default, but in some exceptional cases if it is disabled, web pages don’t work properly as I said above. Consequently, you start looking for such guides which could help you to enable javascript on your browsers. Right?

So, Let’s quickly learn how to turn on javascript and make your web pages work properly.

Enable javascript in Internet Explorer

To enable javascript, follow the below procedure.

  • First of all, go to Internet Explorer and go to tools from the top menu.
  • Under the Tools option, go to Internet Options. Look at the screenshot to get it better.

  • After clicking on Internet Options, you will see a handful of tabs and options. Click on Security among them and then select Custom Level… button. A screenshot is given below.

  • In the Custom Level, you will find several options there. Scroll down almost till the bottom and under Scripting category select enable.

  • Once done, click on OK. At any point of time, you feel the need of disabling it, simply follow all the steps again and select disable.

Enable javascript in Google Chrome

  • Go to your browser(Google chrome) and at the top right corner select  Customize and control Google Chrome [Chrome menu]. And go to settings from the drop down menu.
  • On the setting page, click on the “show advanced settings…”
  • Once done, scroll down the page and under Privacy, section click on  Content settings… button. Doubt?? See the screenshot.

  • Once you will be on the Content Setting page, you will see various sections there that include Cookies, Images, Javascript, Handlers etc.  You have to navigate through the JavaScript and make it enable by clicking on the Allow all sites to run JavaScript(Recommended) and then Done. Enable javascript in Mozilla Firefox

I guess you must have got that to enable javascript in any browser we have to navigate through their Settings but if you still doubt like how do I enable javascript in firefox then go ahead the step by step procedure is illustrated below.

  • We have to access through firefox configuration file to enable javascript. To go to this file, type about:config in address bar and press Enter.
  • You will see a warning message saying”This might void your warranty”. Click on the I’ll be careful, I promise! button.
  • In the search bar, type javascript.enabled and hit enter.
  • You will see a few of options there. Right click on the javascript.enabled, and select Toggle if it is set to false.

(If the value is set to true, it means your javascript is enabled if false, you will have to toggle to make it true.)

Enable javascript in Opera

  • First of all, go to Customize and control Opera Opera button at the top left   corner of the browser.
  • Now Select Settings from the drop-down list you can also press “alt+p” to directly go to the setting page.
  • Once you are on the setting page, select Website. And then under the JavaScript section, click on “Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended)“. And you are done!

Enable javascript in Safari

  • First of all, click  Safari menu(menu) at the upper right corner of the browser.
  • Once done, select Preferences…
  • Now go to security tab and under Web content section, click on Enable JavaScript. That’s it you are done.
