How To Start Windows 7 In Safe Mode

Windows 7 is one the most used operating system. So, the majority of windows users keep wondering about how to start windows 7 in safe mode. Below I’ve covered the whole method with the necessary screenshot.

Starting windows 7 in safe mode is comparatively easy than windows 8. Let’s see how to do it.

Step 1. The very first is to turn on or restart your computer.

Step 2. Now wait for your system to gets ready to initialize and load the operating system. When the windows get prepare to reboot and start displaying the windows logo, press and hold the F8 key or repeatedly press it until you see the Advanced Boot Options Menu.

The screen will look similar to the below screen.

(If you can’t see the Advanced Boot Options Menu and your computer starts normally, then you’ll need to restart your computer again and repeat the procedure.)

Step 3. Now use the arrow up and down keys to navigate through the options visible on your screen.

Step 4. When the safe mode option is highlighted, press the Enter key.

Step 5. As sooner the enter key is pressed, your system will boot in the safe mode.

Now you are in the safe mode. Do the needful, either it is about removing the viruses or uninstalling any program. When you are done, come out of the safe mode by following the regular turn off or shut down procedure. Click on the Start Menu> Turn off Computer.

How To Start Windows 8 In Safe Mode

Tried pressing F8 for windows 8 too, but can’t get into the safe mode?? Now?? Well here’s when this guide turns out to be a significant help. Starting windows in safe mode in windows 8 is a completely different procedure than windows 7.

Here’s how to start in safe mode window in windows 8.

Method 1.

Step 1. To go to the safe mode in windows 8, open Run windows(Press Windows key+R) and type in msconfig and press Enter.

Step 2. Running this command will lead you to the System configuration windows.

Step 3. Now on the System Configuration Windows, you need to go to the Boot Tab. See the below screen to understand better.

Step 4. Ok once done everything properly, it’s time to move ahead and select the boot options. You need to check the option Safe Mode. Under this option, you can see 4 other options, select the option Minimal among them and click on OK.

Step 5. Now in the next pop-up windows, you’ll be asked to choose from Restart your computer now or later. Select the first option to select Restart.

The very next moment, you’re computer will restart in the safe mode.

Method 1.

Although the first method is enough for anyone trying to troubleshoot the computer. But, I’m describing the second method, in case the first method didn’t work.

Step 1. Press the power button first. Now press the SHIFT key and click on the restart button simultaneously.

Step 2. Once you do that, a new window will pop-up containing three options. Select the second option i.e Troubleshoot. See the screen below.

Step 3. Now in the next windows, select the third option i.e. Advanced Option.On clicking Advanced option, you’ll see the following screen.

Step 4. Now in the options provided, go to the Startup Settings.

Step 5. In the Startup Settings, select the option 4 i.e Enable Safe Mode and press Enter.

Step 6. That’s it. You are almost done. Just the last step left. As sooner you’ll press the restart button, your computer will reboot but before it enters into the Safe mode, you’ll be asked to choose the type of safe mode.

Now it’s up to your need, select any one of them and you are good to go!
