We will cover here the different methods to block a phone number on android that is inbuilt and using a third-party application like Mr Number and Call Control.

How to block a number on android directly via the call log:

One of the best methods to block numbers is to block them directly from the call log. In this case, we don't have to type or remember the number. The moment you received the unknown caller, you can block them right away. Let's see how.

How to Get the Google Chrome Standalone Installer

If you are reading this article, you must be on some sort of Internet Browser. Go ahead, tell me what browser is it?

Chances are it is Google Chrome!

Chrome is hands down the most preferred browser right now and with good reason too. The only hindrance to it is that you will have to download it off the internet every time you use a fresh installation of your desktop OS.

Well, not anymore! We have for you the chrome standalone installer!

But, before we get to that, let us find out why we are listing Chrome as the first choice browser and not any other browser.

Why Chrome of All Browsers?

Well, the answer is relatively simple. Chrome is the best browser around.

“But on what grounds?”, you ask.

On several, actually. Chrome has been found to be the fastest and most stable browser around.

Competitors Firefox and Microsoft with their new Edge browser seem to be catching up, but Chrome is yet to give up its crown. Opera had a salient feature with data connectivity, but even that has been remedied with a chrome plug-in.

Another feature that Chrome offers is syncing tabs and histories and passwords between the mobile and desktop counterparts and this is one feature that no one yet has been able to implement so perfectly!

Why the Chrome Standalone Installer?

You all must be wondering, what is the use of having a google chrome offline download because it's an internet browser! It won't function without the internet!

Well, let me give you three scenarios where you'd have to download chrome offline!

  1. If due to work or some other reason you have to install the browser on many machines simultaneously, then the chrome standalone installer comes in incredibly handy!
  2. If you're on a very slow internet connection, then downloading Chrome every time you start from a  fresh install of your OS can be tiresome! The google chrome offline download the app will save you some precious time!
  3. If you're on a metered connection then installing Chrome via online methods will blow a part of your data cap away! Download chrome offline for such situations.

How to use the Chrome Standalone Installer

There are two main environments where Chrome runs. Windows and Linux. We will discuss how to use the Chrome Standalone Installer in both of these.

As an extra, a valid and up to date link to the Android apk for Chrome will also be provided should one want it available on their Android devices!

#1. Offline Installer for Windows

Windows come loaded by default with Intenet Explorer. However, most of us substitute it with Chrome right off the bat!

For the installation procedure to be completely offline we will need to follow the steps as listed below.

Step 1

The first order of business is to check the architecture of the system we are running. We have to find out if we are running the 32 or 64-bit architecture of Windows.

This can be done with relative ease by right-clicking on the Computer icon> Properties.

Step 2

Next up we head on over to this link for the single user and this one for all user installations. This installer works with all versions of Windows from XP to Windows 10.

We also have a choice of the operating system here, 32 or 64 bit and based on what we found in Step 1 we install the version of Windows relevant to us.

64-bit users of Windows offline will find it at this link.

Step 3

The installer is saved on a thumb drive and is ready to be utilized on any Windows-based PC.

#2. Offline Installer for Linux

Now things can get a wee bit more tricky for Linux users out there. There are 4 main versions available!

Step 1

Figure out if you're running the 32 or 64-bit version of your OS just like before and if you're using Ubuntu or Fedora. Unfortunately, these are the only two Linux distros officially supported by Google.

If you have any other distro you may check out community builds in the link here.

Step 2

Now head on over to this link and choose the version you want to download!

Step 3

And like before, put in a safe storage media for future offline installations!

#3. Offline Installer for Android

And now for the bonus round! Chrome is generally bundled with Android as part of the Google Apps package.

However, a situation with which Custom ROM flashers must be very familiar with is flashing a micro version of Gapps that doesn't contain Google Chrome!

For those times you have to download chrome offline!

Here is the link to apk mirror for the latest apk of Chrome on Android.

And that brings us to the end of this article! If you are considering to upgrade to Windows 10, you might want to check out this article first!

Be sure to leave your comments down below and I'll get back to you with the solutions to any questions you might have!

How To Take A Screenshot On Android Phone

Screenshots in mobile sometimes become very useful. It is quite a handy tool to have at hand.

For instance, when you have to create a tutorial or have to send an image of your phone screen to a friend. In that case ‘how to take a screenshot on android' is the only question pops up in our mind.

I've seen many people exchanging screenshots for various reasons. Maybe to share important portions of chat, or to share the score of a game or there can be a host of reasons, we are not going to go in-depth on that.

But, the question remains the same how to take a screenshot on an android phone??

Sometimes taking screenshots may become a complex job if you do not know the proper way of doing it. Different phones have different ways of taking screenshots. In the early days, to capture a screenshot was really tricky and complex.

The Android of older times does not have the inbuilt capability of capturing images. Instead, we have to take help of the third party software to capture the images.

But with the progress of time, the tech things have become really convenient and easy. The latest versions of the Android OS has the inbuilt capability of taking screenshots.

So now without any further procrastination, see how the screen capture android thing works. Taking the screenshot very much depends on the versions of Android. What are the different procedures for different android versions, let's check out.

How To Take A Screenshot On Android Phone

Capturing screenshot on android is really very easy. But, we do need to have a trick. Let's learn how can we take screenshots in different android devices.

Older versions of android i.e 3 or lower

As I said earlier, the older version of androids doesn't have an inbuilt screen capturing feature. We have to take help of third party software like  Screenshot EasyScreen Grabber or No Root Screenshot It.

These apps enable us to capture the screen with ease in the old versions of androids. All you have to do is just install these apps on your phone and you will have the answer to your question, how to take a screenshot on Android.

Android 4.0 and Below

There is a very insignificant difference between the different android versions. If you have an android with Android version 4.0 to 4. 2 follow the below procedure to capture the screenshots.

Hold Power and Volume Down button together for a second or two, your screen would be captured in the very next moment. You would hear a capture sound with ‘Saving screenshot…' message on the screen.

Your captured image could be seen in the notification area, or if you mistakenly dismiss the notification, you can check that out in the Gallery app on your device. Tap over your Gallery app and you will see a folder ‘screenshots' under it. Open that out and use it accordingly.

Note: Even though the action seems to be very easy but there is a slight knack in the action. You need to be quick enough to press both the keys simultaneously. Delay in pressing the volume down a key may cause the screen display off.

Android 4.3 to above:

In Android 4.3 and above, we need to follow the below steps-

To capture the screenshot in the Android version 4.3 or above, Hold the Home and power button and press them for a few seconds. Your screen would be captured instantly. Isn't the procedure same like other android versions with a little difference?

Like I said above, all you need to take care of is pressing the buttons together. That's it!

Samsung Galaxy S5

If you own Samsung Galaxy S5, don't panic I've described the procedure for that too. To take the screenshots in Samsung Galaxy S5, you need to enable the capture mode. For this procedure is given below.

Go to Settings > Motions and gestures > Capture screen.

Once you are done enabling capture screen mode, you can take the screenshot just by swiping your finger over the screen. Either left or right doesn't matter, you can swipe it in any direction.

In all the versions of Android, screen capture gets saved in the gallery app. To view your screen captures, just tape over the Gallary icon, and you'll see a folder named ‘Screenshot'. You can clearly view your capture there.

Woah! Now make your friends jealous by sharing your highest score the game. And catch your friend's lie by sharing his last seen via screenshot. Well, it completely your call how do you use the screenshots.

Once you know how to take a screenshot on android phone, everything becomes so easy. You can even share settings of your mobile with your friends being so far away. Hope you enjoyed our this guide!

Now, take as many screenshots as you can but before this, share this guide on social media. Meanwhile, read our other guide on Hidden files.

The iconic Galaxy S2 heralded the beginning of Samsung and Android as the world leaders in the mobile landscape.

Building upon that very foundation came the Samsung Galaxy S3, and this set Samsung as the undisputed King of the Hil as far as Android handsets are concerned!

Why Should You Root Samsung Galaxy S3?

The question that may be looming large in your mind at this moment probably is why you should root your S3 at all?

Well, I'll try to convince you that rooting is the only way to go if you want to breathe some life into your now ageing Galaxy S3.

The S3 is no doubt an old warhorse, currently in its 4th year. However, there are a few tips and tricks that you can pull out of your bag to keep it relevant even in the days of the Galaxy S6.

All of these points that I'm going to mention below require you to root Samsung Galaxy S3, so if you'd like to do any of these cool stuff, read on!

  1. Custom ROMS: If you want the latest update for Galaxy s3, you will have to flash custom ROMs. So there's the topmost reason for rooting your device.
  2. Reduce Bloatware: System Memory is a precious commodity, and as time goes on, and you start downloading apps, slowly but surely your phone runs out of system memory. Root helps you debloat your phone by deleting system apps
  3. Install Root only Apps: Root only Apps like Titanium backup and TWRP are really helpful in the event you have to do a factory data reset.
  4. Install Custom Kernels and Other Mods: This one is pretty self-explanatory!

#1. How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 using ODIN

So before we can begin, we will need to take care of a few things!

  • First off, you'll need to have access to a Windows Computer with Admin rights.
  • Secondly, you'll need to grab hold of a USB cable, The original one is preferred but any good quality one should do the trick!
  • You should also have more than 80% battery left in your device!

  • You'll need to download the ODIN from this link.
  • CF Auto Root can be found here.

Step 1

Unzip the attached Odin3-vX.X.zip file

Step 2

Next, we download the CF Auto Root File and unzip the zip file.

Step 3

If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file – don't extract that one

Step 4

(USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer

Step 5

We start the Odin programme by clicking on Odin3-vX.X.exe. For the next step, we choose the PDA button and select CF-Auto-Root-….tar.md5

Step 6

Put your phone in download mode.

To do so, turn off the phone, and then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot into download mode. If it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command.

Step 7

(USB) Connect the phone to your computer

Step 8

Make sure Repartition is NOT checked

Step 9

Click the Start button

Step 10

Wait for Android to boot. You've completed all the necessary steps!

Once the phone boots check using any Root Checker app (we recommend this one) to verify that you indeed have root permissions on the device!

NOTE: Sometimes the device does NOT boot into recovery mode and roots your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens.

If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin “Auto Reboot” is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.

#2. How to Root Samsung Galaxy S3 using Framaroot

Sometimes, we don't have a PC near us. But that doesn't mean we can't root our device!

For those times, we have the Framaroot app!

  • Make sure you have the latest Samsung Galaxy s3 update download ready and installed on your S3.

Step 1

Install the apk on your phone.

Step 2

Select one of the available exploits.

Step 3

Let it run, if it shows unsuccessful, then try another exploit if available!

Now you may be asking, why didn't you tell us of this in the first place? It's definitely an easier process than Odin.

Well, first of all, Framaroot doesn't work in a few isolated cases. Secondly, ODIN is a much better process, and if you intend to flash ROMs, you will do well to get familiarised with this interface!

Congratulations! You have gotten root Samsung Galaxy S3 successfully! This though is just the tip of the iceberg! With a custom recovery installed you can dive into the world of Custom ROMs!

How to Get Adobe Flash Player for Android

As someone who has been on the internet for the better part of two decades, I've seen it grow and evolve before my very eyes.

From the days of the dial-up connections to fibre networks that provide gigabit Internet speeds, the internet has progressively become faster with time.

But even with relatively good internet speeds, we find web pages take ages to load up. That's probably due to the flash-based ads that they're hosting.

So to combat this move, Google disabled Flash support in Android since the days of ICS (4.0.4). Android officially doesn't support flash, and very soon Chrome browser will disable flash based ads as well.

So this seems to portray flash in a bad light. Seems like Adobe is the bad guy here who is making internet slow for everyone else. Well, that's only a part of the story!

Why is Everyone Shutting Down Flash Support?

Flash had become incredibly popular in the late 90s, and it continued well into the 2000s. However, it was quite buggy and throughout the years have been the root cause of many security vulnerabilities.

Not only that, flash ads can be deceptively CPU intensive for being web-based and web pages running too much Flash content often slowed down machines considerably.

Despite all of this, Flash continued to grow. Many developers hated the software and in time, flash replacements like HTML5 were born. However, the

adoption rate remained slow as most of the internet seemed reluctant to let go of adobe's creation.

As time passed, though, major corporations began a move away from Flash to HTML5 based content thus leaving Flash to die a slow death.

In spite of all this, though, Flash continues to survive even in the present day. A fair number of video streamer still use Flash-based video players and if you want to access them through your Android phone; you'd be at a loss!

But fear not for we have a way out for you!

The Easiest Way to Get Adobe Flash Player for Android

Today we will show you the two easiest ways you can get adobe flash player for Android.

We will need to install an apk that is not from the Play store. To do so we need to tick on Unknown Sources.

We navigate to Settings>Security> Unknown Sources and tick the box!

Step 2

Next up you'll need the Flash apk, which is hosted by the good people at XDA-Developers. Google has removed the apk from the Play Store but you can download free adobe flash player for Android from the link in the downloads section.

Step 3

Once you have downloaded the apk into your computer, phone or tablet, and you'll find it in the Downloads folder or on the Desktop.

If you downloaded the file to your phone or tablet pull down the notification shade and tap on the notification icon that the Flash player file has been downloaded.

In the window that pops up click Install, then choose Done.

Step 4

Now we move onto the next piece in the puzzle a browser that has support for flash. Our browser of choice is Dolphin, and you can go ahead and download it from the Playstore link posted in the Downloads section!

Step 5

Once Dolphin browser has been downloaded and installed, open the app.

Navigate to the settings menu inside the app and ensure Dolphin Jetpack is enabled. Then scroll down and select Web Content.

In the next window check that the  Flash Player option is set to Always On.

Step 6

Now it's done, and you can access all the Flash content that you want!

#2. Installing Adobe Flash Player for Android using Mozilla FireFox

Pre-Requisites and downloads remain pretty much the same. The only change is now we are installing FireFox.

  • Get the Mozilla FireFox browser by clicking on this link.

Step 1

This method is very simple and perfect you need to first download the Adobe Flash player just like we did in Method 1.

Step 2

Once both the apps have been installed, we proceed with the process. We open Mozilla Firefox and click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of the screen.

Step 3

Once inside the settings menu of Firefox, we scroll down to Content and inside that we click on Plugins. Select the Enabled rather than ‘Tap to play' option for optimum Flash experience.
