How to Uninstall Internet Explorer?
Internet Explorer (IE) is the most widely used World Wide Web browser. Launched in 1995, by Microsoft, it is one of the first graphical-based Web browsers. With time, a lot of up-gradation has been made on Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer 11 is a big step forward for the default Windows system browser. IE 11 has the capability to compete with the most popular browsers, like Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
However, Microsoft has discontinued all versions of Internet Explorer other than the recent version for its still-supported operating systems. Moreover, with a lot of other popular browsers gaining momentum, the question that surfaces is that how to uninstall Internet Explorer. But before that, you should be knowing, in practical terms it is:
- Windows 8.1: Internet Explorer 11
- Windows 7 SP1: Internet Explorer 11
Now, whenever a new version of Internet Explorer was launched, it is but obvious that people tend to delete the previous one. Today, in most of the systems we have Internet Explorer 11 and removing it involves a very different process. Before discussing the removal process, take a look at how to install Internet Explorer:
Installing Internet Explorer
There are two ways via which you can install the Internet Explorer:
- Download from the official web-page of Internet Explorer 11.
- The second one is based on the Windows update.
The first method is simple and is clear from the heading only. Take a look at the steps for the second one:
- Navigate to “Control Panel – > System and Security – > Windows Update”, or just type “windows update” in the Start Menu search box.
- Click on “Check for the latest updates.” In the list of Optional Updates, you will see one that says Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7. Select it and then click OK.
- Next, click on the Install updates button, for the installation to start.
- The installation process will begin, and then restart your computer to finish the whole process.
- Once this is done, the Internet Explorer 11 shortcut will be placed in your Taskbar.
Now, take a look at the process of getting rid of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows.

- There appears that Windows needs to reboot your PC. Just, Click on Restart now. Remember, to lose any unsaved work of yours.
- And when you restart your system, the Internet Explorer will be removed.
However, this doesn’t completely remove all traces of Internet Explorer as other programs and processes rely on its rendering engine. This process is applicable for Windows 7 and the same goes for Windows 10, too.
Removing Internet Explorer from Windows 8

- Drag the file to the Trash in the Dock. As the Trash icon darkens, just drop the file in the Trash.
- Go to the “Finder” menu and select “Erase.”
- A pop- up window appears, just confirm the selection.
Closing the updates
Even after uninstalling the Internet Explorer from your system, you may continue to receive notifications. Getting frequent notifications to update the older version, can be annoying. Now, if you want to shut these notifications too, follow the steps:
- Go to Control Panel and click on System and Security.
- Then click on Windows Update and click Change Settings in the left pane.
- Under Important updates, click the drop-down menu box. It says Install updates automatically.
- Select and click on Download but let me choose which updates to install. To finish, click on the OK button.
Internet Explorer is a great browser to use and embarks a lot of improvements in security, performance, privacy, and standards support. However, in case you still want to remove it, then how to uninstall internet explorer, is not at all a rocket science. Just follow the above-listed steps and simply get rid of Internet Explorer on your system.
It is recommended that before removing Internet Explorer, you do have another browser on your computer. Go for the deletion, only in case, you cannot withstand Internet Explorer on your system.

How to Use WhatsApp for PC?
We are a bunch of busy people living in a world that has way less time for us than we have for it. The internet has changed and morphed over the years into what we have today. A cesspool of quick communications over various IMs (Instant Messenger).
Email is gradually becoming a thing of the past, relegated to an only corporate or official communication. The world of emojis and “Lols” are on the rise!
At the helm of all this is WhatsApp messenger. Having a customer base of over 800 million active users and over 2 billion downloads across mobile platforms, this Facebook-owned company is the uncrowned King of Instant Communications.
So it’s only natural that you’d want to join WhatsApp messenger. We’re here to help you download WhatsApp for PC!
Two Main Ways to Get WhatsApp for PC
Now we can have WhatsApp on PC in two main ways.
- Download Whatsapp for PC official version.
- A Free, (and official Whatsapp Web version) that you can use without downloading anything.
Method #1:- Download Whatsapp for PC Software:
Whatsapp just launched their official version couple hours ago, I mean a real, official, software from Whatsapp.
Something that’s not an emulator, not a third-party solution. But just like there is native software for your computer, that’s what WhatsApp is offering now.
A PC version of Whatsapp made specifically for computer users. Whatsapp Web version was launched, but that wasn’t an “application”. It was just something that lets you “sync” your WhatsApp with your PC.
But recently (Like couple hours ago) Whatsapp launched an official version of Whatsapp that is a full-fledged software and runs as a standalone app for your PC.
Requirements to Download Whatsapp Official Software on Windows:-
- You must have a Windows Enabled PC. (It says “for Windows 8 and higher”, but I’m running it on my windows 7 just fine, so go along!)
- “You must have Whatsapp installed on your Cellphone.
Steps to getting Whatsapp Official PC Version:-
Head over to https://www.whatsapp.com/download/
Click on the for Windows8 and Higher, if you’re on a Windows computer, or click on Mac OS x 10.9 and Higher if you’re on Mac!
- The downloading will automatically start
- Once the Whatsapp for computer software is downloaded, just double click on it. It literally is installed in seconds! And then you should have a screen that looks like this:-
I purposely kept the taskbar at the bottom visible in the screenshot, so as to verify that it runs perfectly on Windows 7 too!
- So once you get the QR code, just fire up Whatsapp on your cell device and click on Whatsapp Web option and scan the QR code on the screen.
- It takes a couple of seconds, and then you are logged in to the Whatsapp for PC official version app!
Well from here, you can literally do all those things that you used to do on your cell device, just on a bigger screen, way bigger.
See? So yeah that was it. Not a lot of hustle huh? Yeah, the Whatsapp team took good care of user-friendliness thing no doubt.
Let me sum up the whole process for you:-
Head over the official website to download Whatsapp for PC > Click on Windows 8 or Higher > Run the Application > Scan QR Code > Done!
So yeah it’s a 4 step process, that requires less then 5minutes to be completed. And once done you can access all the features of Whatsapp on your PC, and for the first time, without a third-party emulator or application.
Method #2:- Use Whatsapp on PC without Downloading Anything!
I don’t think you’re going to need this method after the official launch. But if you do, let me tell you the one single benefit it has over the above method.
With this method, you don’t need to download anything! Well yup, you can access WhatsApp on your PC without downloading anything.
The first step is to have WhatsApp installed on your smartphone. You can install it on your Android Phones by clicking this link. Apple users can find it in here. As for the Windows folks, you’ll get your fix of free WhatsApp download from this link.
Once that is done, set up your account. Then head on over to the main interface. For Android users, click on the three dots and you will find the WhatsApp web options.
If you use any other phone, then navigate to your WhatsApp menu, and you should find the options there. For more detailed instructions on this, click on this link.
Next head on over to this website. Fire up WhatsApp Web on your mobile device and scan the QR code that has popped up on your computer screen!
Finally, you will be greeted by the WhatsApp Web App interface. From here you can chat with your contacts and even send pictures and video!
These are two ways with which you can get WhatsApp for PC absolutely free! If you’ve any other questions regarding WhatsApp on PC or WhatsApp messenger, in general, leave us a comment down below!

How to Remotely Shutdown or Restart a Windows Computer?
Forgot to shut down your system and do not have direct access to it? What if I tell you that there is still a way? Do you want to know How to Remotely Shutdown or Restart a Windows Computer? If yes, then this is a must-read article exclusively for you.
So, without delaying it any further, let us get started with how to reboot remote PCs via the command prompt? So, let’s get started:
How to remotely shutdown or restart a Windows computer?
Step #1: In order to get started with the process of remote shutdown or restart a Windows computer, you will first have to enable remote registry service on each of the systems that you need to manipulate.
For this, consider the following process. First, go to the Run section using the keyboard shortcut “Win + R.” This will open the Run dialog box for you. Now you need to enter “services.msc” without quotes and hit enter.
From the subsequent window which follows up as the result of your recent activity, you need to locate “Remote Registry.” You may need to scroll down a bit for that, or you can perform a text search just by typing the few initials of the same. Now, right click on the “Remote Registry” option and then click on the “Properties” option from the menu that follows.
Now, from the next dialog box, you need to set the startup type to “Automatic” and then click on “Start” button.
This will enable the remote registry on your systems. Remember that you need to enable this on every system that you wish to shutdown or restart remotely.
Once you are done with the mentioned, then you now need to look out for our next steps.
Step #2: In this step, you are required to open the desired port on the system’s firewall. To do so, you need to click on start button, and at the text area, you are required to type “Allow a program” and then hit enter.
From the subsequent window, you now need to click on the “Change settings” button. Doing so, you will see the options to be active which were quiescent before. After this, you are required to scroll down till you find the “Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).” Once, you have found that then you are required to enable it by clicking the checkbox next to it.
Also, take a note that you must have administrative permissions on the remote system that you wish to shutdown or restart, failing which you won’t be able to do the needful.
So, by far we are done with the basic setup. Now, we are all set to execute our commands in order to do the desired work. For that, we will have to look into the next steps.
Step #3: Now, on another computer, you are required to launch the command prompt. To shut down, the system remotely, type in the following command “shutdown /i” without quotes. This will open a graphical user interface. Now, on that remote shutdown dialog box, you are required to enter the name of the system that you wish to shutdown or restart.
Additionally, if you wish, you can also warn the users about this. Also, you can specify whether you want to shut down or restart the system.
Once you are done with all these, then you are now good to hit the “OK” button. This will do the desired work for you.
Moreover, if you don’t want to do this via the graphical user interface then you can directly type in the following command at the command prompt: “shutdown /s /m \\Shubham-PC /t 30 /c “Shutting down.” /d P:1:1”.
Change “Shubham-PC” with the desired system name and shutting down with your warning message. To restart the system, you need to replace /s with /r. Additionally, if you wish to log off the system, then you will have to replace /s with /l.
If you simply put this “shutdown /?” command on your command prompt terminal, then you will have all the list of commands relating to this.
Now, we will see how you can achieve the desired result using a Linux operating system. For this, you must have samba-common, package installed on your system. To do so, consider installing the package using the usual command like Sudo apt-get install samba-common.
This will install the desired package for you. After this, all that you need is to type in a command which requires the user account name of the system on which you want to preform the action.
You will also require the password and the IP address pf the system . Make sure to note that the user account must have the administrative rights in order to perform these actions.
Once you are all set to go then you can now type the command with the following syntax: net rpc shutdown -I ip.address -U user%password
Replace the IP address with the numerical IP address of the system, user with the user account name of the system and password with the corresponding password.
Once you are done with the mentioned, then all you need is to hit enter and voila, you have done that, kudos.
Alternatively, if you have remote desktop access, then you can also achieve the desired results.
