How to Combine PDF Files?

How to combine pdf files

PDF files are one of the most popular document types. They've got their own reasons for being so popular, and one of them is the ability of combining two PDF files.

Probably that's why you're searching for answers to questions like How to combine PDF files, how to combine two PDFs, combine multiple PDFs, or anything related to that. And that's exactly what this piece is all about as well.

But before that, let's start by diving into the details of PDF files a bit.

What are PDF Files?

PDF is the abbreviation for “Portable Document Format”. Now why it's so popular might be a mystery to many, because we all are familiar with and use PDF files, but seldom do we care to dig into such technical details.

The reason PDFs are so popular is, they're almost like a standalone document format. Meaning, if you run any document using Ms-WORD, it needs extra fonts, graphics and other elements, doesn't it?

Well PDF doesn't. It encompasses within itself each and every element needed to display the document.

So what happens is, it doesn't matter if you use custom fonts, custom graphics or anything else, they won't be lost when you share the file from one system to another which might not have that specific font, because the PDF file stored the font within itself when you created the file.

Also, it doesn't matter if you created the file on Windows XP, Windows 7 or any other operating system, you can run it seamlessly anywhere as long as it's a PDF document.

Now that was the “common man, English definition” of what a PDF is. If  I get into technicalities, codes and the “magic number” which is used with a PDF file, you might break your computer screens.

And anyway this is a piece on combining PDF files, so let's not go beyond the scope of this article.

What does Combining PDFs Files Mean?

Before I can start with the piece on  how to combine PDF files, it's only fair of me to explain what combining exactly means.

When you combine two PDFs, what basically happens is, one PDF file will merge with the other.

So, first of all you'll get one single file in place of two different PDF documents. And secondly, the contents of one PDF will be merged with the content of the second PDF.

In other words, it's copy-pasting the data of one PDF to that of another.

Why to Combine PDF Files?

So now you know what PDF files are, and what combining them means. The only question that remains to be answered is, why would you want to combine PDF files?

There are quite a number of reasons why you might want to combine your PDF files, let's have a basic glimpse at some of them:-

  • Ease of sharing. Obviously, combining two PDF files makes them one, hence you can E-mail, share over WiFi or any other way send it to other colleagues easily.
  • Reduces confusions:- It's no use having 10 different PDF files for different chapters of the same book or something related. Instead they all can be merged in one file for better understanding.
  • Hiding documents:- This isn't a common reason of why people combine PDF files, but trust me it works. It's easier to search and find one file in a dump of PDFs, but it's comparatively harder to search for one page of document if it's hidden with a separate 100-page PDF document, right?

Anyway that's enough chit-chat, let's get down to business.

How to Combine PDF Files?

No matter how complicated or high-end it might sound, but actually combining two PDF files is extremely simple.

There are over a hundred online free tools which combine PDF files for you instantly, and you can save them on your hard disk with a single download click.

Go to CombinePDF, and click on “upload files” button.
How to Combine PDF Files

A popup would show itself, choose the PDF files you want to combine.

How to Combine PDF Files

Once that's done, the combination process should start. (It takes roughly 3-4 seconds to combine 2 files!) And once the combination is done, just click on Combine.

How to Combine PDF Files

Well the combine button technically is there as the “download” button, means as soon as yo click it, your combined PDF file would get downloaded instantly.

Done! Now I'm sure this method is more than enough for you to combine your PDF files. But just as a backup, let's have a look at another platforms to do the same.

Method#2:-

Go to PDFMerge.

Select the files you want to combine, you can combine as many files as you want. Initially, there are 4 upload buttons, so upload your files.

How to Combine PDF Files

In case you need more files to be combined, just click on “more files” button.

How to Combine PDF Files

And then finally just click on “Merge”.

How to Combine PDF Files

Done! The “Merge” button in this case will act like the “download” button, and upon being clicked it will downloaded the merged document to your hard-disk instantly.

Wrapping it Up:-

So that was all I had for this How to combine PDF files piece folks. It did solve your problems didn't it?

Most times the first method we talked about works, in case of heavy-server load you can go with the second platform.

Or if you're in for some serious bad-luck, just hit Google up and search for:- “Combine Two PDF files” and you'll get more converters than you'll ever need.

Anyway do let me know your feedback in the comments section, or if you've got any doubts, queries or problems with the queries.

Also I wouldn't mind you hitting the share buttons and sharing this piece on your Social Media with your buddies.

How to Find Someone On Facebook Without Logging In

Published

on

By

With more than 1.5 billion users, Facebook has been something beyond a mere social media website. You have to be very lucky to find a friend who doesn’t use Facebook. This popularity has been helping people for a while now.

Many children have got their parents back only through Facebook. And, today I am here to share helpful info with you that’s how to find someone on Facebook without logging in.

You may think that it’s not possible. But you are wrong! To find someone, you don’t have to be online.

How to Find Someone On Facebook Without Logging In

I am going to share five different methods on Facebook search for people without logging in. Don’t think these processes need geeky people to get it done. You can do it without any help from others within a few minutes.

Are you ready to know how to find someone on Facebook without logging in? Here we go.

Method 1. Search on Google

Google is everyone’s go- to- place when we have to search for something. That’s why I am starting with this method. You can quickly find public profiles on Google with a specific search operator.

If you are a blogger, you may probably know that there are several search operators available for Google to make every search query satisfying. Follow the steps given below to find anyone on Facebook.

Step 1: Go to google.com and click on the searching text field to enter text.

Step 2: Type “sitename:facebook first name last name” without quotes. Replace the first name and last name with the complete name of the person you want to search for.

Step 3: Press Enter or click the Google search button. You can see the search results and obviously you will get what you are looking for, as the first result.

Check the image given below to have an idea. I have searched for Kulwant Nagi, and I got his Facebook profile without any worry.

Method 2: Use People Search from Facebook

The best idea to find someone on Facebook is to use Facebook itself. Fortunately, Facebook has been providing a People Search service for a while now. You can use this service to find anyone.

Follow the steps given below to find people on Facebook right away.

Step 1: Go to Facebook People Search by clicking here. You can see a text field to enter the name and some alphabets beneath it.

Step 2: Alphabets can be used to find popular profiles as you can’t find an ordinary person using them.

Step 3: Type the name of that person ( the one you are looking for) into the field given. Then, click the search button right next to the field. Or else, you can press Enter key.

Step 4: You can see a page up to 10 people matching the name you have inserted. If you don’t see the exact person you want, try the process after adding the city, educational qualification or any detail you know about him/ her. It will increase the process of ending up in right result.

Hurray! That’s all.

Method 3: Use Social Searcher

Some people don’t like using Facebook. So they choose to stick with other social networks only. In such occasion, searching only on Facebook doesn’t help. So, you have to search on every network altogether.

Social Searcher is the solution here. You can search for almost every popular network.

Step 1: Go to social- searcher.com. It’s the tool to find social profiles.

Step 2: You will be provided with a text field. To find a social profile, you don’t have to log in or provide access to of your social media accounts.

Step 3: Insert the name of a person or brand you want to find the social media profile or page. Then, press Enter.

That’s all. You will find profiles from at least ten social media accounts.

Method 4: Use Facebook Directory

Sometimes, you may have to look for pages, topics or places. Facebook provides another tool for this. It’s Facebook directory.

Click here to visit Facebook directory. There, you can see a search field. There, you can see three tabs including people, pages and places. Click on the one you want to search.

Then, type the name and press Enter. That’s all. Unlike Facebook people search, you will see pages, people or places with matching names.

But you can’t find every profile using this option. Why because it is possible to prevent Facebook bots from fetching a profile with a simple privacy tweak on the account settings.

Method 5: Use a Browser Extension

I have already given you four methods that help you find anyone on Facebook even without logging in. I hope you make use of it easily. If you find none of them is convenient for you, you can use this method.

Here, I am going to introduce a browser extension to you using which you can find anyone on Facebook. As Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are the two popular browsers, I have chosen one that’s available for both of them.

Use the links given below to download the browser extension. (I have specified Chrome and Firefox extensions).

Chrome Link

Firefox Link

After the download, you can see that the extension gets added to the browser. Use the icon on the toolbar to find anyone on Facebook.

That’s all. You have got five easy methods for finding someone on Facebook without logging in.

Wrapping Up

I have given you five methods. I hope each of them is very easy for you to get done.

If you like to go with Facebook’s tools for this purpose, you have to log in. But all of the basic details can be seen as a guest.

All of the services I have given here use Facebook’s API. So, you can see only that info that is set public.

I think everything is clear now. If you still have any doubt, feel free to ask via the comment form down below.

Also, share this post with your peeps on social media.

How to Use the Undo and Redo Commands?

Published

on

I cannot even recount that how many times the undo and redo shortcuts have saved my life. These are one hell of a gem and have been a life savior, at least for me. Since you have landed here then you might be interested to know how to use the undo and redo commands, right.

So, this article will tell you how to use the undo and redo commands along with step by step guide.

So, without wasting any time further, let's dive deep into this and explore. So, let's get started:

How to undo and redo?

Okay, you want to take a step back or two, you can easily do that using an undo command. But the key point to take a note is that this is entirely controlled by the software on which you are trying to apply the undo commands.

Some of them allow multiple undo's while some of them allow a single one. For example, MS paint allows a single undo while in Adobe Illustrator you can perform multiple undo operations.

So, in this section,  we will see how to undo and redo in some of the major softwares.

We will first go to MS office. How to undo and redo in MS office? So, let's get started:

Step #1: First of all, you are required to open MS Word on your system. We are taking MS Word for illustration purposes; you can go with any of its products. Once you have opened MS Word, then you now need to move on to the next steps for further proceedings.

Step #2: Perform any action to an existing Word document or a blank document. After that, if you wish to undo your operation then press “CTRL + z.” This will revert your changes.

Additionally, if you want to redo an action then you are required to press “CTRL + y.” This way you can quickly perform the redo operation in Word.

Alternatively, in previous versions of MS Office, you may find the edit option from which you can also perform the same task by clicking on the undo and redo options.

Let's see how it can be done in MS paint.

Step #1: First of all, you will have to launch MS Paint on your system. Once you have done that, open the desired image file, or you can even create something of your own.

Step #2: Oh, you made a mistake and wanted to undo the action. Press “CTRL + Z” to get back a step back. If you want the redo the step then just press “CTRL + Y” to get the needful results.

Moving on, we will see how to redo and undo in Adobe Photoshop. So, let's get started:

Step #1: Open Adobe Photoshop on your system. Once launched, you are now required to open any existing project on which you want to perform these actions.

Step #2: Now, if you want to undo or redo your steps, you have two options, either you can go with the usual “CTRL + Z” keyboard shortcut which will get you exactly one step back, or you can go to edit option and then select the appropriate option from there.

Alternatively, to undo your steps, you can also go to the history section of Photoshop from where you can also see what steps you have gone through till now.

To go to history, you need to click on the Window option from the top navigation menu and locate the history option.

Once found, you need to click on it. This may open a history panel from the right side from where you have a look at your steps.

Now, if you wish you can select the desired steps that you want to undo and then delete them by clicking on the dustbin like icon as shown.

This will produce the same output as the undo command, but the difference is that you can revert as many steps as available.

To say the least, CTRL + Z and CTRL + Y are the undo and redo global actions for any Windows program. So, what if we want to perform the redo and undo operations on a Mac? If you are thinking about the same, then the following section is a must visit for you.

In Mac operating system, the alternative for CTRL + Z is “Command + Z” and for the redo operation the alternative is “Command + Shift + Z.” The Command key in Mac is equivalent to the CTRL command in Windows.

Also take a note that not every action your perform can be redone and undone. So, if these keys don't work in some cases, then you might have performed those actions.

[Additional Information]: Some useful keyboard shortcuts.

  • CTRL + SHIFT+ESC: Opens Windows Task Manager
  • ALT + TAB: Switch to another running program
  • ALT + SPACE: Displays the foreground window's system menu.
  • ALT + F4: Closes the current window
  • SHIFT+DELETE: Delete item permanently without placing it into the recycle bin
  • Windows Logo + L: Lock the computer
  • Windows Logo + R: Open the Run dialog box
  • CTRL + F: Finds for terms in a Window
  • Windows Logo + M: Minimizes all open Windows
  • Shift + Windows Logo + M: Undo the Minimize all (opposite of Windows Logo + M)
  • Windows Logo + D: Display desktop by minimizing all open Windows
  • Windows Logo + TAB: Cycles through running programs (Function similar to Alt + Tab)
  • CTRL + ALT + DEL: Referred to as “Three finger salute” often used to interrupt a function. It provides a bunch of options like task manager, log off and others.

So, this was all about how to undo/redo edits? We hope that this article must have added unique value to your knowledge base.

wINDOWS 8 START MENU

Its a quite a few months since the Windows 8 has launched. If you are among those people who love to have a Start button still in windows 8, then here we are providing you a classic tip “How to Create Personalized Start Button for Windows 8?” Yes you have certainly came across several apps, softwares and extensions. But this is a complete different new dimension. Protecting your computer is also crucial. See 3 best antiviruses for Windows 8 that will definitely going to protect your computer from harmful virus.

The CLSID

customise-WINDOWS-8-START-MENU

While you won’t have to go traipsing around the registry in order to implement this technique – I already did that – you may be curious as to where the CLSID came from. Essentially, a CLSID key is a part of the registry that contains code that provides access to specific system objects in the operating system, such as system folders. The CLSID keys can be found in two places in the Registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesCLSID and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID.

Now, under normal circumstances, you would never need to use a CLSID because it is specifically designed to be used by developers and the operating system. In fact, a CLSID is a 128 bit Hexadecimal number enclosed in braces, so it’s not very user friendly.

In any case, the CLSID that provides access to the Apps screen is

{2559a1f8-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}

The shortcut

To use the CLSID to launch the Apps screen, you’ll use the Shell command. In order to launch a Shell command from a shortcut, you need to use the explorer.exe command. As such, the shortcut to launch the Apps screen consists of the following command line. (Take note that there are three colons between the word shell and the left brace. Also keep in mind that there is only one space in the whole command line between the .exe file extension and the word shell.)

explorer.exe shell:::{2559a1f8-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}

To create the shortcut, just open the Documents folder, right-click on the background, and choose the New | Shortcut command. When you see the first screen in the Create Shortcut wizard, type the shortcut in the text box.

When you see the second screen in the Create Shortcut wizard, type a short name for your shortcut. To complete the wizard, just click Finish. As soon as you see the shortcut icon, right click on it and select the Properties command.

When you see the Properties dialog box, click the Change Icon button to open the Change Icon dialog box. By default the Change Icon dialog box displays the icons from the explorer.exe file. As you can see, none of the available icons are very exciting. However, if you click the Browse button, you can search for other files that contain icons.

Once your custom Start button appears on the taskbar, drag it all the way to the left side of the taskbar. So here you are with what you want to have. So go on and enjoy “Windowing”!

For that, there are many software available over the web and as well as well-known by you so no need to describe it.

But if you want to lock your Hard Drive partitions without any software then? In that case, Microsoft has provided one wonderful tool known as “BitLocker” in Windows Vista, 7 and 8 for encrypting your entire Hard Drive partitions. Using BitLocker you can lock any volume on the computer even the one you boot from. But a question arises in your mind that How to use it, right? By this method you can lock all the drives on your computer except “C:/ drive” or “Boot partition”.

Now, the second mode:

Yes, it is true that you can encrypt the main operating system drive, but this has some special requirements since the drive has to be unlocked before boot. First of all this requires that Windows has a seperate boot partition that isn't encrypted; in case if you don't have then create a separate boot partition. The second requirement is that your system include a TPM (Trusted Platform Module).

If you try to encrypt your boot volume without satisfying the above to requirement then it will give an error as shown in the figure below.

Now you will able to start the BitLocker process on your system drive, and will have the option to either enter a password on startup or insert a USB drive to boot.

If you have any problem regarding “BitLocker” then put your comments below so that I can surely help you to get rid out of your problem. Hope this guide helped you to understand how to use BitLocker.
